I am not sure, try forums and chat rooms, I would recommend trying banner exchanges.

Banner exchanges can be risky if you're running a Christian content site. Just something about not knowing what banners may be displayed on my site makes me VERY uncomfortable sometimes. But banners are sort of a must, though, if you're using those free services especially...tough call

You can also do banner exchanges individually. I have several people with whom I have exchanged banners and I prefer to do it one-on-one.

    Some other options include:

    * Writing articles for ezine publishers to use free of charge with your contact/resource information included.

    * Link exchanges - these work very well on the whole.

    * Inexpensive advertising on targeted sites

    * Barter advertising for products or advertising on your site

All of these have worked for me in the past.

I agree with you about exchanging banners or links. I have been doing this with a few of my friends. I would be willing to put a link to your site if you would be willing to add one for mine to yours.

I don't have any banners at this point, but do have a number of links to other sites on my site. You can visit at: http://www.b2bablessing.org

You seem to have good traffic here.

A cycling forum I visit was dead when it started but now they have 1000 people online much of the time.

About 100 active members and 900 lurkers.

Don't know how much promotion they did though.

Is this one indexed in Google? Some sites are. I'm more websurf then webmaster so I don't know how to do that.

Well but, I think that not everybody is willing to exchange links.
But I agree with article writing.

I decided to join 100 traffic exchanges in 100 days.

And the best one I have found is Link Referal.

Looks like a few people have sig links so I'm going to go a head and put it in my sig link.

    5 Free Advertising Ideas

Here are a couple more no-cost ideas that are working for me and my team:

    1. Free Classified Advertising Sites

Free classified advertising in sites that focus on dealing locally is getting a lot of attention like craigslist, kijiji and a host of others. 5-10 ads per day gets your biz name out there and after a couple of weeks people start to check it out.

    2. Free Directory Listings

Again there are tons of directories that you can list in for free and receive one-way links back to your site. This adds to your site's exposure and also aids in SEO.

    3. Squidoo Lenses

This can bring in YouTube videos, related Amazon book titles, pics, etc. Squidoo lenses have also been known to greatly assist in SEO for your site.

    4. Social Networking

Google Groups, Facebook, MySpace, blog sites etc. are social sites that can allow you to reconnect with old friends as well as make lots of new ones who may greatly benefit from your site and what you have to offer. On a ministry level, GodTube is the new rage as well.

    5. Home Business Forums

You can benefit from tons more creative tips for free on and offline advertising.

    Trust this aids your endeavors.

    God Bless,

    Joanne

    Re: Best place to advertise

Ive tried craigslist, but that hasnt worked to well for me. I've gotten a fair amount of traffic to my site from it, but never any bookings, so far. : ) There's another site like CL but I cant think of its name, its weird, something like kijiji or something like that.

Ive heard billboards can work, but ive also heard you should have a fair number of them in a row, because people need to see it a few times before it sinks into their brain. So this can get pretty expensive.

I should check the local newspapers. Hopefully its not to expensive. But ive also heard you should have the ad in there for a few months straight, that way you get brand recognition.
