The issue begins in a statment made in the 138th Psalm...
Verse 2 "... for thou hast magnified thy WORD ABOVE all THY NAME."
Then Isaiah makes a Messianic promise through prophecy- Isaiah 52:13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
John 1:1 is not where the new testament began. John's gospel was the LAST book written, not the first.
And John's reference to "the beginning" was "the beginning of the gospel" not the beginning of creation. Whenever John references any beginning other than the beginning of the gospel, he tells us so with modifiers. This holds true throughout his writings.
In 48 a.d., Paul wrote "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." [Gal 2:20]
And in 55 a.d. Paul wrote - "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that JESUS CHRIST IS IN YOU, except ye be reprobates?" [II Cor 13:5]
In 60 a.d, Paul wrote: "And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: 23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; 24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:" [Col 1:21-24]
"Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, TO FULFILL THE WORD OF GOD; 26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: 29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily."[ Col 1:25-29]
So Paul tells us he preached a concept that was new, "Christ in you," and he preached it to the whole world, and that he was given a mission to do so by God. And tht "Christ in you" being preached to the whole world, and becoming true in the lives of those who let Christ live in them, fulfilled the WORD of God.
THAT is how "the WORD became flesh and dwelt among men." It became flesh in those who turned their lives over to Christ, so that they no longer lived, but Christ lived in them.
Then in 69 a.d. John wrote that Jesus had been given a "new name" which is above every name -
This word translated "new" is from the Greek word "kainon" which references something NEW, NEVER BEFORE USED, NOT PREVIOUSLY KNOWN. So the "new name" of Revelation 3:12 cannot reference a name that was applied to a pre-existent Jesus prior to the apokolypse of John, because in 69 a.d., John tells us it is a "new name," an heretofore unknown name, not just unknown, but not previously used. It dates the gospel of John as referencing "the beginning of the gospel," Not the beginning of creation as previously supposed.
And the name Jesus had that no man knew is "THE WORD OF GOD;" And John says it is: Rev 19:12 "and his name is called "The Word of God;" Then it can be concluded that God gave Jesus a name which surpasses God's name.
96 a.d.
"And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." [John 1:14]
By the time this was written, the "WORD OF GOD" was already preached to the whole world, which was the concept of "Christ in you, the hope of glory." When it was accomplished, Jesus was extolled and made very high by being given a name promised in prophecy, a name that suprassed even Jehovah's mighty name; a name that Jehovah himself raised above his own name.
One of Jehovah's names was "Lord of Lords" so that is not the name above every name. Same with El, Elohiym, Adown, and all the other names given to resurrected Christ that had previously been reserved for Jehovah, now given to Jesus.
But "the word of God" was made higher than Jehovah's own name, by Jehovah himself.
