I have filed chapter 13 bankruptcy ,I have a lawsuit filed against me.given my,wife's health issue ,I,should have filed last year. Are you saying that you yourself have become bankrupt? Or your workplace has?
I have filed chapter 13 bankruptcy ,I have a lawsuit filed against me.given my,wife's health issue ,I,should have filed last year.
there are two types for personal bankruptcy. chapter 7, liquidation where I don't pay back the creditors but non exempt property is sold, such as tools, and cars, or chapter 13 where nothing is sold to pay the creditors, but I pay a montly payment over a period of 3 to 5 years.Okay,.. well I'm afraid that I still don't quite understand. :/

I choose chapter 13 as it would suggested by my lawyer
Its not as bad as I make it sound ,I'm not suggested its ok but legally its the Only type of court mandated specifically in the constitution ,its its own court type .I,spent hours after the summons reading on how it work ,yes I was concerned ,but, the lawyer broke it down .he said homestead is exempted from the creditors .That is one big worry Jason
Praying for you
Until the court approves my,case no job changes,I did apply to go back to fleet,if hired I would be able work one job .Praise The Lord for that.
So are you still going to be working but less hours?
It will take a few months, must set up,plan to repay what I can,it must be approved by the court and also meet the court trustee. Are you waiting to hear from them?
I wish I did this last year. it would have saved the headache of last Friday getting the court summons.I'll be praying for you Jason
I put things off too, and then regret it. You will get through itI wish I did this last year. it would have saved the headache of last Friday getting the court summons.
I was raised to pay the bills, I got overwhelmed and didn't know what the lawyer said, unless its 10 grand or under in unsecured debt, you will see a lawsuit and its best to seek relief via bankruptcy. oddly the court will force me and all who file prove that we are unable to pay them. which well that isn't too hard, just the haggle of how much per month.I put things off too, and then regret it. You will get through it
Trust in the Lord
God Bless you Jason He will help you
