Actually, I think this is a really important issue.
Who do YOU believe Romans 1:19-20 is speaking of?
Just WHO,,,not that I intend to go on with this discussion.

(it does concern blasphemy of the Holy Spirit)

The whole theme of Romans Chapter 1 is Paul bringing the Gospel to those Gentiles in Rome to show them the reason and result of their guilt to show them the just will live by faith in God.

At one time everyone knew God before there were Jew or Gentile, but they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature (other gods) more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever.

This is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit that is the very Spirit of God as they rejected that which they once knew because of their wickedness and were beyond hope of salvation.

This is getting out of hand. There will be no more discussion about Calvinism or any doctrines other than the doctrines of Christ. Anyone who does so is in violation of ToS #1.1 and 1.3. Anyone who continues to do so will be banned from the thread. No more derailing the topic of the OP which is about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

No need to reply to this warning.

If a person is stating calvinist doctrine and then saying they are not clavinist,,,then there is a problem and that person should come to understand exactly what their theological belief is. If they do not know...they should find out. I believe I stated this to you back when. This is certainly not meant as an insult,,,I think it's just a good idea to know what one believes to be true.

Amen.

Ephesians 2:8 (that invisible book in your Bible)
Romans 8:29-30

Does it say “IF GOD WILLS YOU TO BELIEVE” or does it say “IF I WILL MYSELF TO BELIEVE”? That is the honest question.
A, no book in the bible is invisible to me except Revelation.
I believe I've always answered any verse you posted,,,but I still haven't heard the reconciliation between John 6.44 and John 14:6.
One says that no one can go to Jesus except the Father draw him...6:41
The other verse says that no one goes to the Father except through Jesus....14:6

So which one is right?
Does the Father give us to Jesus...
or do we get to the Father by way of Jesus?

We all agree that those who BELIEVE will be SAVED. The question is the first source and original sin. Are we SICK or are we DEAD? The sick choose to cooperate with the PHYSICIAN, while the DEAD just lay there and wait for GOD to perform a miracle.
You are referring to Ephesians 2:1 again.
Is there any doubt that we were morally corrupt before salvation?
Paul says we were DEAD IN OUR SINS.....dead in our sins is referring to a moral condition...we were dead spiritually. The real question is...were we at all capable of responding to this dead spirit of ours,,,or did we have to wait till God awakened us?

This will now lead to free will. Do we have the free WILL to respond to God or must HE give us that will.

In John 5:40 Jesus answers this question:
40and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.

A person that is unwilling has the free will to either go to Jesus or not. In fact, if you read all of John 5:39.....it is obvious that it is US that must go to GOD.

39“You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; 40and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.

The persons Jesus is speaking to were unwilling...THEY willed NOT to go to Him.

41“I do not receive glory from men; 42but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves. 43“I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him.

Jesus tells them that they do not receive Him.
Why would this surprise Him if it is GOD that chooses persons and infuses them with the ability to receive Him?

44“How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God? 45“Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have set your hope. 46“For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me. 47“But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

It is up to US to seek the glory of God.
It is up to US to believe the words of Jesus.

The Reformed (Calvinists) believe that men are DEAD in sin and GOD performs a miracle to give us a rebirth with a new heart and mind that is alive and desires HIM, so GOD is the first source of our faith and empowers belief among those he predestined and called and justified and glorified (Rom 8:29-30).
We can agree that we were dead in our sin before salvation. We were headed toward hell. We were slaves to sin because we are either serving God or serving satan -- no middle ground. We have a sinful nature and were born that way.

If we are exhorted to believe and to live a Godly life,,,it means we have the capability of loving God and obeying Him.
John 3:16 what could be more clear?

Romans: Believe in the heart...confess with the mouth.

The N.T. was written to teach us HOW to be saved.

Ditto for Romans 8:28- 30
It does not say WHO will be saved...
but HOW we will be saved...as God planned this from the beginning.

To return to the OP topic, since this is relevant:
If MAN is only SICK and the source of his own faith (belief) and, therefore, a contributor to his salvation, then MAN retains the power to reject GOD and choose unbelief at any time. Such a man has the power to commit the UNPARDONABLE SIN.
I adhere to the above....
Because if this is NOT true,,,then man cannot be held responsible for his sins. If I have no part in my salvation,,,,how does a JUST GOD justify sending a person to hell. And even if He saved 2/3 of humanity even though they deserved hell,,,it would still be unjust for HIM to pick who would be saved.

If MAN is DEAD and GOD the source of man’s faith (belief) because GOD has performed a miracle and given a NEW heart and mind that desire GOD, then MAN has no power to reverse a miracle of GOD and the new mind cannot choose unbelief. Such a man has no power to commit the UNPARDONABLE SIN.
And that man will have to wait till the end of his life to find out if he is truly saved. A sad God this is. Who does not give each one of us an opportunity to be with Him forever when we learn that the reason for our lfe is to : Love, honor and obey God.

Already answered, go back and reread.

... so baiting Calvinists seems wrong.
(PM me if you are still confused by the Gospel of John.)

I'd like to explain why I'm insisting on this and asking questions.

I'm finding, these days, that there are churches that are teaching reformed theology but without stating so. IOW, they're trying to have the reformed doctrines creep in secretly and many persons are repeating calvinist ideas without their even knowing it.

This is rather upsetting to me. If one wants to believe the reformed doctrines that's fine with me,,,it is their right after all.
However, they should at least KNOW and be aware of what they believe and have some capability of defending what they believe --otherwise it shows they are not aware of their doctrinal beliefs.

I agree with what you've said above. Somehow or other, when we hear the gospel, we must be ready to receive it. This is certainly a work of God since it's God that always makes the first move by revealing Himself to man.

Once God has revealed Himself, it's up to each one of us to accept Him and follow in His ways.0
By reformed theology do you mean these churches that preach grace without actions? I looked up Calvinist and that looks like a predestined salvation. I think there are snippets of truth through all churches, and yes God calls us to the truth in these churches if you are his. I grew up Catholic and I love much of what the church stands for, but obviously they aren't the total package.

The rebuking of the churches in Revelation, shows that people from these churches are his if they listen to what he's saying.

Like you said, it's up to us to actually listen. And, I have faith that those who are his...will.
