The "strong meat" in God's Word involves deeper matters beyond the topic of The Gospel. It involves the "mysteries of the kingdom of heaven" which Jesus said was given to His Apostles per Matthew 13, but to the multitudes it was not given, meaning it is not understanding revealed on the surface. The parable of the tares of the field in Matthew 13 is one such example. It is a matter that goes all the way back to the Book of Genesis, that is, for those who understand the parable.

The seminaries teach ministers to stay away from controversial subjects in God's Word. Even though God's Word reveals mysteries hard to be understood for many, like Peter said in 2 Peter 3 concerning some of Paul's writings, it's those things that actually get into the "strong meat" of The Word, and represent the fermenting wine which Jesus said you don't put in old wine skins lest they break.

It is also for those who are mature, that is to say, those who be reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

These are not referring to natural senses.

For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Hebrews 5:13-14

Can you discern that the serpent seed doctrine is a false doctrine which is not available to be discussed here on the forum?

I only brought up the subject to warn you because you are new here.

Thanks bro. JLB

There is something that I need to say here, that is such an important part of this topic of "MILK and the "MEAT".

Many years ago as a new believer, I kept hearing the vital importance of never stop reading and studying God's word, which we all know is true, so I have searched and studied for many decades.

About 5 or 6 years ago something amazing began to happen as I studied.
I began finding topics not mentioned in scripture specifically by name, but nevertheless, written between the lines, left to be revealed by the Holy Spirit, when I was mature enough to receive them, a lot of them, never mentioned in church, or ever spoke of in Christian circles.
What I realize now, is that having my eyes opened to these things, is part of the process of my maturing and receiving Gods "MEAT" of the word. I didn't stay caught in the "REVOLVING DOOR" of learning and re-learning the "MILK" of Gods word.
I was "HUNGRY, and so God fed me through His word.

What I wanted to say to encourage all here, is that there is so much God will open your eyes to, that is just astounding,
if you consistently stay in God's word for the rest of your lives, and pray for His truth, but also pray for "WISDOM," "KNOWLEDGE," "UNDERSTANDING", and "DISCERNMENT" - Proverbs 2:1-7.

There is so much more to learn than what is taught in church or even Christian colleges, that only teach the milk.

The "MEAT" has been lost in our Christian culture, and has been replaced by "man's wisdom and doctrines", but it can be found again through much prayer, and seeking out God for HIS TRUTH.

You'll be shocked and stunned as I was, over and over, by the depths God will take you, to the rest of His salvation that the modern church knows nothing about, or many parts rejected by mans wisdom, arrogance, and egotism.

God bless you all who go to your knees and seek out the truths and the "MEAT", that are beyond the teachings of the churches and Christian colleges.
There is so much of Christianity and salvation yet to be revealed, past those elementary teaching of Christ.
There's a whole new world waiting for you, if your willing to search out on your own, all God has waiting for you.

Who ME.e
Good morning.

No it shouldn't be the aim, but it ends up being the end result, because of the hearers lack of commitment to reading and studying of scripture on their own, or even remembering 5 minutes later, what they heard in church.

Talk with your preacher, be constructive in your comments about his sermon and as you and others show that you see far deeper meanings in the passage he will slowly start to deepen his sermons.
You have to support him as the sheep bleat against having a paragraph that they struggle to understand.

Suggest things like a men's event where an apologetic lecture is given or a trip is made to where a noted apologetic speaker is.

Many minister also long for more challenging conversation and Bible studies, can you set up a Bible study that digs into the meat of the gospel and find other men who will take part?

....
So much of that is true.

And it's not only that a lot of pastors don't know, but that the systems they are under will fire them if they teach those deeper mysteries in God's Word. When my young son was born premature, I met a pastor at the hospital whose daughter had been in an accident. I asked him about a certain topic written in Genesis 1, and he looked at me sternly and said, "No man showed me that; God showed me that." He said it twice. So I asked him if he taught it to his congregation, and he said no, that only about 25% would understand. So I asked him what about that 25%, don't they have the right to know? He didn't respond to that.

Another time, an engineer at my work asked for a copy of a Bible study I did. I didn't immediately hear a response about it from him, nor did I ask. But about two years later, he came to me all excited. He said that his Church has a pastor that teaches The Bible only, doesn't preach The Gospel, but teaches Bible only, and that he is a Hebrew scholar. My engineer friend told me that pastor started covering what I'd written, so basically I was allowed by God to plant a seed, but He made it grow. I asked him if he thought others in the congregation showed they understood? He said he didn't think so, and also said he nudged his wife and asked her if she understood, and she said she didn't have a clue.

So there are some Churches out there, but very, very few, that does cover portions of the "strong meat" in God's written Word. And if one thinks about it, what is Christ's Church especially for? i.e., to preach The Gospel to those who have yet to hear. So I can understand not straying very far from that. Yet the job of a real pastor is to teach Bible, all of it, to God's people, to read It and give them the understanding.

Meat is awesome for enjoyment, Milk is vital for a young developed person. The bible is enjoyable in the sense f meat, after we take milk portions of Gods word first. Before we eat the meat of Gods word, we have to drink the milk of biblical foundation.
