Hi all,
How are you?
I am a mountain gal, born and raised in the mountains of western North Carolina. I have 6 kiddos age 13 to 27. I also have 2 grandkids.
I am a college student. I have a masters degree in theological studies and am working on my ma in clinical mental health counseling. I currently work at a therapeutic foster care agency. I am often short on time for fellowship with other believers due to my activities but am hoping to remedy that.
I love getting to know people. I also love writing and reading.

Welcome! And i thought i was busy! What a fascinating and worthy field of study you've chosen! I can tell right away you are a woman of great patience and compassion!

Having spent the majority of my youth in foster care and institutions, i understand the difference people like yourself make.

We are all about learning here at CF and there is no thing as stupid questions, but, you can get stupid answers at times, LOL. We might not always agree with each other, but we are doing our best to keep unity in Christ as we walk in love towards each other. Just jump in anywhere and enjoy the fellowship.

Thank you so much for the welcome. Yes, there is a lot of hard stuff that happens with what I do, but I receive so much joy too. I love when God takes a mess (bad situation) and turns it into a masterpiece. It happens a lot.

Wow, I'd really like to hear how God moved you to where you are today.
It's kind of funny in a way, because most often it's what we deem insignificant that has the greatest impact on those around us. I am 53 now, but in my youth it was the calming smile and caring eyes that helped at the moment and their words of wisdom and direction that would be partially understood years later.

I added a small portion of my testimony to a page on one of my blogs. It's a wall of text and I still missed a lot stuff. Hopefully, linking to that is ok. Anyone is welcome to read it.

That is a really good testimony. Isn't it amazing how God sets the stage. I'm reminded of this verse.
Romans 8:28 ESV. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

When life is good, we embrace this verse. But when our faith is put under the fire, do we still believe it? Do we trust in these words, because they are trustworthy and they deepen our faith, especially through trials. I've learned that in Gods economy, nothing is wasted. It all holds purpose.

BTW, you are an excellent writer and your blog looks nice!
 
Thank you. Everything that has happened to me, either good or bad has served a purpose. However, when its hard it is difficult to deal with it....even when you know in your head it will work out.
