Maybe he was a prophet or something. The evil ones of this world ARE trying to roll out the hunger games right now. Release virus:biggrinestroy any remaining independent businesses so that only super rich and super poor exist. I get the guys humor, but things are this and that. We could be headed for hunger games if we go along with our evil world leaders. But the Bible also tells the same story. Revelations talks about the mark of the beast. No one can buy or sell w/o it. Funny Bill Gates and Henry Kissinger are making rounds in the media promoting this as i speak. Henry suggested we do away with family and paper money. Bill Gates is promoting his unnatural vaccine with nano particles so they can remotely scan to see who has the "mark" or not. Not joking. He is literally trying to inject all humanity rfid nano technology. No mark ? no can fly or buy.
Jesus talked about the prince of this world . Didn't see it when i was younger. Now its obvious. We need to work together with all people,(christian or not) to not allow Gods creation turn into the" hunger games" for lack of a better example. Also Elon Musk is launching thousands of 5G satellites and has gotten approval from US FCC to install millions of 5G antenna around the globe. 5G is military grade millimeter wave, harmful to humans and nature. It messes with oxygen.Inside us and what we breathe. They used it on the Iraqi soldiers gulf war 2.
Don't let your local politicians get away with it. All info is true and verifiable. Look for yourselves

christianguy6,

Why don't you follow Norman Geisler's 'Reasoning from ground zero' to determine truth from fiction:
  1. There are self-evident truths (e.g., "I exist," "Logic applies to reality").
  2. Truth corresponds to reality.
  3. Truth is knowable (all other views are self-defeating).
  4. One can proceed from self-evident truths to the existence of God.
    1. The argument from Creation (proceeds from "I exist")
    2. The argument from morals (proceeds from "Values are undeniable")
    3. The argument from design (proceeds from "Design implies a designer")
  5. God is a necessary Being (argument from being).
  6. My existence is not necessary (evident from the definition of a necessary Being).
  7. Therefore, theism is true (there is a necessary Being beyond the world who has created the contingent things in the world and intervenes in the world [chap. 3]).
    1. The objection from the problem of evil can be solved.
    2. The objection to miracles can be solved.
  8. The Bible is a historically reliable document.
    1. History is an objective study of the past.
    2. There is great historical, archaeological, and scientific evidence to confirm the reliability of the Bible. (Corollary: The Bible gives a reliable record of the teaching of Jesus Christ.)
  9. Jesus claimed to be both fully human and fully God.
  10. He gave evidence to support this claim.
    1. The fulfillment of prophecy
    2. His miraculous and sinless life
    3. His resurrection
  11. Therefore, Jesus is both fully human and fully God.
  12. Whatever God teaches is true.
  13. Jesus (God) taught that the Old Testament was the inspired Word of God and He promised the New Testament.
  14. Therefore, both the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God.
The overview of his system was later streamlined slightly into a 12-point schema. As of 1999, it could be summarized as follows:
  1. Truth about reality is knowable.
  2. Opposites cannot both be true (The Law of Noncontradiction).
  3. It is true the theistic God exists.
  4. If God exists, then miracles are possible.
  5. Miracles performed in connection with a truth claim are acts of God to confirm the truth of God through a messenger of God.
  6. The New Testament is historically reliable.
  7. As witnessed in the New Testament, Jesus claimed to be God.
  8. Jesus' claim to divinity was proven by miracles, especially the Resurrection.
  9. Therefore, Jesus is God.
  10. Because Jesus is God, whatever Jesus affirmed as true, is true.
  11. Jesus affirmed that the Bible is the Word of God.
  12. Therefore, it is true that the Bible is the Word of God and whatever is opposed to any biblical truth is false.
These same twelve steps served as the framework for the chapters of the highly popular book I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist in 2004 and for Geisler's 2012 e-book Twelve Points that Show Christianity is True.

Could just start another thread in the appropriate forum.

WIP,

Seems as though my post at #25 would be more suited for a thread: 'How to know truth from fiction when discussing God & the Bible'.

I'll start that thread in Theology as it is an apologetics subject.

One can call out to Suzanne Collins through Katenas Aberdeen (although she did not rise from the dead) and see if they are helped. Then in full repentance one should call out to Jesus Christ (who did indeed rise from the dead) and notice the difference.

I think basically I know a thing by what it does. What the bible does is give us new life and power in order to enable us to grow in faith and purpose. The more we read it and grasp it's meaning and as what we read works in our lives.. we are enabled to grasp it's purpose in our lives. The bible is much more than mere fiction. There is power and life and meaning as the Word of God can virtually change our lives because the Word is inspired by the Holy Spirit who is God.

Its called "faith"

And in regard to our faith its by the Spirit.
Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit bears witness of Jesus.
Those who listen and learn from the Father go to Him.

I report news on here (for the most part) daily and even I have trouble keeping track sometimes.

It boils down to human capability. Humans rely on testimonies to get to facts. It's a must. Humans can't possibly find a better way for a fact to convey.

Novels on the other hand, is the lack of human testimonies, from eyewitness accounts in the end.

Histories are made up of testimonies gathered by a historian (well, equivalent to a reporter for today's news. one for the past with the other current), they are supposed to be from eyewitnesses accounts ultimately. However, when you read through histories no one can keep track of who is "the eyewitness for this". Do we have a better alternative to this (i.e., reading from history books, with history = his story) ? We don't. That's what we can get under human capability. It is the only source we can get past facts from.

Luke the historian told us his historical method in Luke 1:1-4.

Hello Christian Guy.
I don't need proof that the bible is true. The bible proves itself. God has helped me so many times how could I not believe?

Well spoken. The Bible proves itself! The main way to prove the Bible's legitimate is by studying it through prophecy!
And also as Christians THG will reveal us the truth in revelation.

There's the crux of it right there. The fact is that, revelation is always an unseen phenomenon when it happens. It is very real but when one tries to share those revelations with others, not many are willing to believe it. It takes a little child to pretend that the unseen is in fact real. Scripture tells us to look to the unseen. But let's face it, it's a spooky occurrence when it happens so it sometimes takes an act of our will to declare in our heart that...this is the real deal. Unseen or not.

It's our decision to accept these revelations in our heart as truth. The primary way that THG gives revelation is when we prayerfully read His Word and meditate on it.

I think there is a difference between reading His word from our carnal self and reading His word from our spirit. You have to read His word from the spirit.

Intelligence is of the carnal mind and so can not ever accept the things of God. Wisdom is of the heart and this is the path we take to grow spiritually.

The story of Jesus and salvation is THE greatest story ever told. It's the only myth that is true. Harry Potter and the Hunger Games are nice entertaining stories for kids and teenagers in this modern world. But they don't come anywhere near the substance of the Bible. Think of how many great books have been influenced or even based on the Bible and it's values.
Christmas Carol. Moby Dick. East of Eden.to name a few..serious writers cannot ignore it, even they criticise it sometimes. Look at C S Lewis who wrote Tales of Narnia. Tolkien who wrote Lord of the Rings. These writers knew how big, how awesome, how profound, the Bible is.

CSLewis said the Salvation Story was the only true myth. When we actually start to consider that the story of Jesus might be actually true, do we start our journey of faith. Whilst I do believe that different cultures have a different path to God, I feel privileged to grow up in the Christian tradition. It's not for us to start looking down condescendingly at other cultures and faiths. Respect other faiths but stick to what you know. I know Christianity and it's right for me. It might be the right one for you.

You say it quite well.
It's a great difference between reading with the mind only, and reading with an open heart.
Only then we can get the revelation of the Word!
More and more and it's like everything falls into place! Very strange and very good!
It's liberation to me!

I think the mind is good as long as it agrees with the Spirit and power.
Spirit keep the mind right and mind keep body right. In line with the Word.
THG will help us all the way!

True! But not all of these books were written by Christians or had Christian themes..
Some might have a bad influence and some good.
I do like lord of the rings and Tolkien was or became a Christian (at least I heard)
