Oh, I see.
Well, it's one thing to see a news article that speaks about a murder and it's another thing to watch it on the screen, made up by some guy that wants to take advantage of violence to please some weird audience members who went to see a movie.

I think the difference is obvious.
A love scene could be beautiful and it could be gratuitous sex.

BIG DIFFERENCE!
What is it you are arguing?

:shrug

If you don't know...it doesn't matter!
I figured you were on some of that Italian wine when you came in, quoted my explanation for the reason for a change in 2.2, laughed at it, then proceeded to talk about things that weren't talked about. I'm quite used to your general condescending and not-nice attitude, so go ahead and tell me what you are talking about. Describe the beauty of the violence in the Bible so we can all understand the BIG DIFFERENCE. Tell us of the beauty of the violent and gory act of the people Israel seduced by devils into worshiping false God's to the point they would fry their own children.

If you didn't understand my lol and took it like that then I'm sorry, really, because I speak to everyone the same and it wasn't a mean laugh.

I'm sorry if I come off as condescending. Not much I can do about that....I am how I am.

So should we ban the Bible because it tells true stories?
I did NOT say the violence in the Bible is beautiful...

And I don't drink enough Italian wine for it to affect my thinking. Speak of condescending.....

Yeah sure, laughing at someones clarification of a suggestion and then mention how adults function is exactly how you define it and no other way and that way isn't mean.

Yet you demand others be nice and not condescending.

It's quite clear you understood violence was being talked about at this point and tried to draw a parallel using sex. How one type was beautiful and the other was not, how there is a BIG DIFFERENCE. I'm not even going to answer your loaded ban the Bible baloney.

And I don't drink enough Italian wine for it to affect my thinking. Speak of condescending.....
At this point not caring at all. Laugh at what someone says then start belligerently talking about what they said when you aren't making sense, that's bar conversation for someone you don't like.

I understand how you can see things the way you do, but what seems obvious to us isn't so clear to others. Thank you for pointing that out.
Each of us have a different personality, and sometimes we clash and other times we simply misunderstand each other. But I think loving one another means we try to think the best of each other, and forgive where needed. Unity isn't always easy and it takes work. But if we can do that, just think what the world would see.

I don't think wondering was being condescending. I think she was being light hearted where you were being more serious. Nothing wrong with either personality, but we need to give grace.

As far as your banning the Bible comment, that's pushing just a bit too hard. That was never implied by anyone but yourself.

Peace
Jeff

It's all a big misunderstand NM,
I wasn't drawing a parallel between anything,,,I was just saying what was being spoken about with the word explicit.
Yes, I Do feel there is a big difference in how things are shown...I made that pretty clear. One is good and one is not. And I wasn't laughing at what you said. I don't frequent bars so I don't know what you mean....I just say what I have to say. Some understand me and some don't. Let's just start over.....

I wasn't the one asked if the Bible should be banned. I never implied the Bible should be banned. No idea where you are getting that from.

You will have to forgive my not accepting your assessment in general.

SORRY EDIT
That was supposed to say I wasn't the one who asked if the Bible should be banned. Originally on this post it did read that I said I was the one that asked that. Hopefully the mistake was obvious, if not, that's what this is for.

Sounds perfectly fine.
Good, now that we have that misunderstanding behind us, let us be results driven and stay on task.

You wanted clarity, we want simplicity and vaugness. What are your thoughts if we omit violence and focus on non biblical sexually explicit and erotic images and language. Does launguage like that help?

wondering,. This is cause for a final clause:
Posts or threads may be removed at the descression of staff.

Plain and simple, we were on two different pages....

If you want vague, then it's a different story.

I don't want any part in making the rules here, I simply pointed out that 2.2 as it stands was an error. Omit or don't. You already asked how I would change it for clarity and I told you how I would do it, and it was simple, but it did lack a vague element. I could never bring myself to advise on a vague rule set with the exception of "it's not a good idea".

Please afforrd me a response.

Yes, omitting 2.2 will be better than having it as it reads right now.

I never had anything to say about sexual content. I'm confused as to why I'm getting asked about it.

When discussing other materials that are not the 66 books and letters traditionally held as scripture for the past 150+ years (and the apocrypha was never really considered scripture) they cannot be held up to the same level of importance as scripture itself. Including Paul's "lost letters" (which really aren't lost...just uncirculated commonly) and other writings of the patriarchs of the Early Church.

How's that sound?

Umm,.. Ik that I post a lot but I got a new suggestion for the rules. I'm not naming names but recently there was a member on here that had like ten or fifteen new topics flooding up the lounge in one day. :eek2Even I'm not that bad.

So anyways it looks like the situation was handled and I really appreciate it but do you think we can make a rule about this in the tos?

I need to fix the html links, other than that, how does it look?
It looks good. I like the fact that it's been cut down. I don't think it needs more than this...it's very understandable what the forum is intending to create.

I do have a few comments:

1. should "to contact a member of the staff" state "in case of a question"??

2. Are you going to leave "Big Rules" ? How about just Rules?

3. 1.3 "Resist the urge" doesn't sound very smooth. Another way of saying this?

4. 1. 6 Also doesn't sound very smooth...

5. 1.7 "Each member is asked to have only one account."
should be "only persons".

6. 1.8 "related material" is allowed.........

7. 1.8 I don't understand what the second part means, but maybe everyone else does!

8. 1.9 Does everyone know what "all links require a 20 post minimum......" means?

9. 1.9 .......approved businesses and sites may advertise there.....

10. 1.13 should be "purpose".

11. 1:14 Does everyone know what TWTS means?

should be "purposes".

should be "whether a member agrees....."

I would have liked to highlight the above on your original, but I couldn't figure out how. Sorry.
