John 16:
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
(NOTE: Once sent the Holy Spirit will reprove/expose/convict everyone of, sins? NO of "SIN" singular.)

9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
(NOTE: The only SIN that Christ's blood won't/doesn't remiss/forgive is UNBELIEF)

10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
(NOTE: Once sent the Holy Spirit will reprove/expose/convict every believer of righteousness. Not our own self righteousness, it's worthless Isa 64:6. Christ/THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jer 23:6. We become righteous thru Faith, whereby our Great High Priest. Imputs His righteousness onto us & takes ALL our sins onto Himself.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(NOTE: Sins required wage is Death. But, thru faith in a sinless Christ's redemptive payment. A remission/forgiveness/a full pardon is given)

Cor 15:
2 (A) By which also ye are saved
(NOTE: The next 2 verses explains salvation's foundation)

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
(NOTE: A sinless Jesus died = Paid sin's required wage)

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
(NOTE: Jesus was buired for 3 days = Proof he died. And Jesus was raised from the dead = God's receipt, payment received & accepted)

How we appropriate/sieze/take hold of: Christ's payment = Faith & Confession

Rom 10:
8 The word is near you, even in your mouth, & in your heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach

9 If you will confess with thy mouth that Jesus is Lord, & and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved
(NOTE: Confess faith in Jesus sin redemptive payment & resurrection)

10 For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; & with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
(NOTE: God imputes/credits our faith/belief/trust in Jesus, with a judicial declaration of righteousness. Salvation comes upon your heart felt belief & confession, that Jesus, who was raised from the dead. Is your Lord & saviour)

11 For the scripture says, Whoever believes on Jesus shall not be ashamed.
(Whoever BELIEVES! Places their FAITH in Jesus sin atoning work!)

12 There is no difference between the Jew & the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him

13 Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved
(NOTE: Confess & believe that Jesus died for your sins & that God raised him from the grave & you shall/will be saved)

Believers Have Eternal Life
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son "hath" everlasting life & he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him
(NOTE: Whoever believes in Jesus Has/present tense, Eternal Life. BELIEVE on the SON & you HAVE Eternal Life!)

Unbelievers Are Condemned
John 3:18 But he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
(Unbelievers in the son ARE (already/right now) & WILL be CONDEMNED. Don't Believe = UNBELIEF = NON-BELIEVERS will face the wrath of God")

We believe in Jesus, therefore we obey the Gospel.

We confess Jesus as Lord.

This is how we obey the Gospel command to repent.

Repent means — Turn to God in submission to Him as Lord.

If we are called to turn to God, then by default we are called to turn away from Satan as our lord.

This is how we are delivered out of the kingdom of Satan; out of the domain of darkness into the kingdom of God.

The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ;

From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38

We receive faith by hearing the word of God; The Gospel message.

Our faith is activated when we obey the word by which we received faith.

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:16-17

I have two questions to this reply to me:

1) Where did the 1st gentiles to receive the salvation seal of Holy Spirit repent of anything?

Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
(NOTE: JLB, Please provide the scripture where these gentiles repented of anything)

2) Does water baptism remiss sin?

And sadly, what you posted here, isn't the gospel for today's Body of Christ believer.

1) Where did the 1st gentiles to receive the salvation seal of Holy Spirit repent of anything?
Yes. They received the gift of the Holy Spirit in the same manner as the Jews.

Peter recounts the meeting at the house of Cornelius with the Jews —

And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning. Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?”
When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.” Acts 11:15-18

Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.

God gives the Holy Spirit to those who obey the Gospel; to those who obey Him. Obey the Gospel = Repent

Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Acts 5:31-31

There is one Gospel; The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Gospel He sent Paul to preach to the Gentiles.

There is no change to the Gospel.

in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:8

  • those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Why would you promote “another” Gospel, some new Gospel for “today’s body of Christ”

Here is the Gospel, that Jesus said will be preached in the last days —

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:14

Please show me where Jesus preached some other Gospel, other than “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”.

Paul preached repentance.
Peter preached repentance

“Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance. Acts 26:19-20

My question was: What did the gentiles in Acts 10 repent from?

2ndly: They obeyed NOTHING EITHER! It was thru faith & faith alone that they received the Holy Spirit!

HERE is YOUR post #3 I replied to:

JLB My 2nd question was:
Does water baptism remiss sin?

The Matt 4:17 & the Acts 2:38 are 100% Jewish doctrine & not applicable for the Boby of Christ.

There are NO gentiles in the wilderness when John was baptizing. The Temple Mt during Pentecost (1 0f 3 mandatory pilgrimage Jewish feast) is full of Jews not gentiles.

Go reread Acts 10, these Gentiles neither repented or obeyed anything. They received the Holy Spirit, thru faith & faith alone, before they were water baptized.

My question was: What did the gentiles in Acts 10 repent from?

Here is my answer.

Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.
Acts 11:18

They repented the way all people repent, who are saved.

They received the gift of the Holy Spirit in the same manner as the Jews.

Peter recounts the meeting at the house of Cornelius with the Jews —

Because they repented, which means they obeyed the Gospel, they were granted eternal life.

Only those who obey, receive eternal salvation.

And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, Hebrews 5:9

  • He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him

You do know that confessing Jesus as Lord, is obeying the Gospel command to repent, right?

You are aware that Acts 10 comes before acts 11? The Acts 10 Gentiles REPENTED of NOTHING!
Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
(NOTE: Sin repentance isn't a requirement for salvation. Repentance (a change of mind) is a result of one's faith. God grants/gives us the ability to repent & to turn from ungodly/dead works. It's this granted God given repentance, that leads to Godly works. A result/fruit that proceeds from of one's faith)

Romans 1:5 ""Through him we received grace"" & apostleship ""to call all the Gentiles to the obedience"" ""that comes from faith"" for his name’s sake.
(NOTE: Faith leads to obedience)

Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Romans 16:26 but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, ""so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience"" ""that comes from faith""
(NOTE: Gentiles are brought to obedience/repentance/godly living, thru Faith)

You failed AGAIN to answer my 2nd question:
Does water baptism remiss sin?

You are aware the Acts 10 comes before acts 11? The Acts 10 Gentiles REPENTED of NOTHING!

I listed the scripture that records the events at the house of Cornelius in Acts 10:34-48

That what Acts 11:18 is about.

When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”
Acts 11:18

And sadly, what you posted here, isn't the gospel for today's Body of Christ believer.

What gospel are you speaking of that is for today's body of Christ?

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

The word of God has never changed and is still the same from generation to generation to generation.

There are five requirements to Salvation

1. Confession - Acts 2:21; Romans 10:9, 10

2. Repentance - Mark 1:14, 15

3. Faith - John 3:14-18

4. Regeneration - John 3:3-8

5. Holy Scripture - 2 Timothy 3:15

1st: the kingdom message is 100% for Jews under the law. The kingdom message was never applicable to gentiles or Jews post resurrection.

2ndly: Water baptism doesn't remiss sins.

3rdly: Acts 10:44 the Holy Spirit was given thru Faith & faith alone, no prior repentance, no prior water baptism, no obedience to anything.

Finally: based on the 5 points mentioned. You don't know how the gospel of Jesus of Jesus Christ is applicable for the Post resurrection Body of Christ. Repentance comes after regeneration. Read post #13.

The gospel/good news of Jesus Christ for the post resurrection believer, I.E. the Body of Christ is found here:

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Christ died for your sins (paying sins required wage) was buried (proof he died) & resurrected on the 3rd day (the Fathers receipt, payment received & accepted.

Our obedience to God is by faith and confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior, but first we need to come before Him with a heart of repentance.

1. The gospel of Christ is the doctrine (teachings) of Christ given to the Jews first and also to the Greek (Gentiles) as both Jews and Gentiles at the same time heard Jesus teach no matter where He went. The Church, being the body of Christ, gave birth on the day of Pentecost and from that time forth the gospel of God's grace was/is taken out into the world to both Jew and Gentile, Galatians 3:28.

Repentance is essential to salvation in order to be whole mind, body and soul as we confess we are a sinner needing God's grace as repentence and belief goes hand in hand. It's there that we start building upon our faith that is Christ Jesus as we develope a personal relationship with Him. We need to confess we are a sinner in order for God to forgive us.

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Mark 1:14; Matthew 3:1; Luke 5:32; Luke 15:7; Acts 3:19; Acts 17:30 these are just a few scriptures that speak of repentence.

2. John's baptism was literal, but yet symbolic for cleansing after one repented of their sin. Notice in Mark 1:8 I have baptized you with water, but he (Jesus) will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. (Not water, but baptize you with the Holy Spirit after you have repented and made clean again through the washing of the word that is Christ Jesus as you become a new creation in Christ, John 3:5-7. It's through the blood of the Lamb (Jesus) that we are made righteous again by being clothed in God's righteousness, Isaiah 61:10; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21.

3. Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Whosoever (anyone) believes in Jesus shall receive remission of sins, but first we need to confess we are a sinner and then repent in order to be forgiven. Faith comes by hearing the word and as they heard Peter speaking the Holy Ghost fell on all of them that heard the word. They 1st repented as they 2nd believed in the name of Jesus as 3rd faith came by hearing the word. Then they were water baptized after they received the Holy Spirit. Water baptism is an outward appearance to others as it is symbolic of being washed in the blood of the Lamb that you have repented of your sins as was the baptism of John the Baptist.

Baptism is another topic so I will not discuss it here.
