There is also Luke 12:45-46, given as a testimony in witness. This is His way of "bringing low every mountain and exalting the valleys", that "every knee shall bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord".
I did not read of Jesus or His Apostles of using any violence against anthers person. I did read where they held firm in their testimony which, by the grace of God, boldly proclaimed even against threats not to speak anymore about Jesus.

In regard to religions history will show in "any" religion when church and state are fused as one hypocrisy reigns. I abhor theocracies. The only theocracy I would be comfortable with is one ruled by Jesus Himself.

However I proclaim without apology as is the truth,
Jesus is the true vine. Any branch not in Him withers and dies. Such branches are gathered and thrown into the fire.

The only theocracy I would be comfortable with is one ruled by Jesus Himself.
That is clearly His vision for the church. When you speak of violence, remember that the tongue is an instrument having the power of life and death. By that truth it is found "the pen is mightier than the sword". Therefore while the same principle applies "all who live by the sword will perish by the sword", through that principle salvation can be found by applying the fear of God and respect for His leadership as in Luke 12:45-46. "For God is not slow as some consider slowness, but He is longsuffering because of His desire that all should repent and come to salvation".

I don't think Jesus meant using His words of truth was the beating of His servants that He spoke of.
The wrath of God is part of the gospel message. Like curses and blessing as noted in the 1st covenant.

I have not met anyone who hasn't heard of Jesus. There are eternal consequences at stake. It is lawful to give the whole gospel message.

Well, it can happen.
The wrath of God is part of the gospel message. Like curses and blessing as noted in the 1st covenant.

I seem to keep finding people who have misheard of Jesus.. and why?

There are eternal consequences at stake. It is lawful to give the whole gospel message.
Ok, well I think we might be going off track by talking about that, but I suppose there is a divine reason for those words (Matthew 12:36).

i dont want this thread to go down the path of proving one version of Christianity is better than another.
Rather we zoom out for a while. Get an aerial view.
No one owns the truth. The truth owns us maybe?
Prayer is superior to debate or even evangelism imo.
and while im on prayer.....do you think God prefers someones prayer effort over another?
i honestly think he does. He knows our hearts. He knows if we are fake or not. Sincerity is the key. And respect of course.

There's a lot of "I think" going on as it relates to this topic. That's almost comical in a discussion of truth as truths are overwhelmingly objective and demonstrable. We have fallen into the trap of confusing the Spirit with the sincerity of our heart's desires and that's borderline blaspemy. We need to work to develop convictions based on what is actual as opposed to what we feel. I'm talking about placing more reliance on "thus saith the LORD" than what I feel in my heart. We can't pray our way out of the instruction of the Apostle Paul in 2 Tim 2:15 so we can be like the person described by Paul in 2 Tim 3:15-17. Saul was sincere, Cornelius was devoutly sincere, those on Mars Hill were apparently sincere, perhaps some of the Pharissees were sincere, but they were all wrong and needed the right knowledge to save them from error. Knowledge beats sincerity, so we must make it a point to pursue knowledge.

I think you have a point. Your view is certainly worth considering.

I pressed wrong key on phone for that post. That sentence was supposed to read: I'm not aware that Im is a word. It is I'm = I am. Ive = I've = I have. Doesnt = doesn't = does not.

I'm an expert at the English language.
I find that different persons have different abilities...
the ability they have in speaking or writing any language
MAY or MAY NOT have anything to do with anything.
Take things as they are presented....
assume the person is doing their best....
we're not here to learn English,
but to share the word of God....
However that word is written....

Say what you want to say and we'll understand.

Whether a person writes
Ive
or I've
we know what they meant.

We all appreciate you here and accept you as you are.
If you care to learn English,,,,PM me and we'll go through some stuff together.

P.S.
I didn't mean ENGLISH, I meant GRAMMAR....

I understand, and it is true that I didn't even notice the lacking of apostrophes before it became an issue. It is interesting to understand the personal reasons that humble soul has for the disability, and it is good to see the effort he is making.

All I said was to encourage him to keep pressing into the right habits, for sure it shouldn't be a cause of stumbling for a reader, but of course we know that the devil takes any advantage we give him.
