I recommend Robert SHank's Book "Life in the Son" for an in depth discussion of "OSAS"/"Eternal Security"/"Unconditional Perseverance". As a Baptist in the beginning, I was, and taught OSAS for years - and now I don't.

the sad part is osas has been so blown out of proportion its pathetic.

You either know you are saved or you don't.
lol the term osa or eternal security or you can lose your salvation is not in scripture . what is in scripture that we may know I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. . but yes that is the key know you are . this will either be moved or removed.. our salvation is secure it was bought and paid for at calvary.. i see uneducated remarks like your saying its a license to sin... if one is practicing a sinful life of no repentance no conviction. or using it as a reason to live the sinful life style.. THAT is not salvation nor scripture paul covered that when it he said what shall we sin because we are under grace? he said NO .
am i eternally secure? yes ! am i allowed to live and do as i please NO. can a person walk away from salvation.. i could give my opinion/ that is all it would be ending with this This will take place on the day when God judges people's secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares. he will separate the wheat from the tares on this day

sorry not a debate but a discussion
not even allowed for that. trust me, i was here before that. the mods will allow some of it but it usually goes south. seen the reformed versus arminist thread do that. i had to do some mending with a member who left because of she was treated by others(not me) that did say things to her in private and on the thread.i went a bit far and had to seek forgiveness. flesh, it likes to be in charge.

i have tried to tell the admin it should not be but they started a new section that allowed it , what good has it done. if the subject comes up i will discuss it

they allowed that? where is that. people will debate this incessantly. the irony here is that i am arminist and neither hold the belief in eternal security.

i am arminist and neither hold the belief in eternal security.
see arminist is very broad some of the southern baptist are reformed and some are not independent hold to eternal security but also hold to parts of armism ( spelling ) me i am ordained gen baptist they do not hold to eternal security, but i split with them but not to the point a person is free to do as the want and be saved

most baptists here hold the opposite. never meant one that doesnt each eternal security. i have attended and asked
first baptist church
kings baptist church
lakewood baptist church
pioneer baptist church( closed and no longer around)
macodonia baptist church
mt.olive baptist church
and a few others.

some of these are different. the later two are nearly pentacostal.

poor poor you.....
there are bigger things to be concerned about whether or not it happens or not that there are clear warnings against back sliding. if it wasnt possible paul wouldnt mention it nor would Jesus mention judging the churches for being lukewarm and holding false doctrines when they werent even saved in the first place.

your probably not been given access to that section
