To be in Christ means that the Believer has been crucified with Christ (the new covenant). Therefore, sin can no longer attach itself to the Believer.

To Believe you must go beyond the Cross means you are not crucified with Christ. There remains no other sacrifice for this Believer. Therefore, this Believer enters into "THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH." Sin will have dominion over you just like Cain.

Galatians 2:20 King James Version (KJV)

I am crucified with Christ
: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

If you go beyond the Cross you walk away from God and enter death! In other words, you are no longer crucified with Christ.

Again you are not understanding by what I meant about going beyond the cross. There is more than just being crucified with Christ as we need to go forth and seek those things from above. Maybe Colossians Chapter 3 will explain it better as I don't feel I am explaining it right.

All it comes down to is God and his promise (Jesus Christ) has been rejected.

The truth is not of the world.

This world is seriously nothing but a fake joke on the surface, yet underneath all the fakeness it's a very beautiful and peaceful place and a blessing.

I have been trying to point out is that some people worship the cross more than they worship the one who hung on it.
You can never separate Christ from His Finished Work at Calvary Cross. Therefore, Christ and the Cross is the most important part of the plan of God. What you have stated is called spiritual adultery (Romans 7:1-4).

The Cross is the same as the Blood of Jesus.

John 15: 1-17 KJV

“1 I Am the True Vine (the True Israel, as He is the True Church, and the True Man; more specifically, He Alone is the Source of Life), and My Father is the Husbandman (refers to God the Father not simply as the Vinedresser, but also the Owner so to speak).

2 Every branch (Believer) in Me (to have Salvation, we must be “in Christ” which refers to trusting in what He did at the Cross) that bears not fruit (the Holy Spirit Alone can bring forth fruit within our lives, and He does such through the Finished Work of Christ, which demands that the Cross ever be the Object of our Faith) He takes away (if the Believer refuses the Cross, ultimately, he will be taken out of the Body of Christ): and every branch that bears fruit (has some understanding of Christ and the Cross), He purges it (uses whatever means necessary to make the Cross the total Object of one’s Faith), that it may bring forth more fruit (only when the Cross becomes the total Object of one’s Faith can the Holy Spirit perform His Work of bringing forth proper fruit [Rom. 8:1-2, 11]).

3 Now you are clean through the Word which I have spoken unto you (the answer, as always, is found in the Word of God; the Story of the Bible is “Jesus Christ and Him Crucified”).

4 Abide in Me (look to Him exclusively, and what He has done for us at the Cross), and I in you (if we properly abide in Him, which we can only do by ever making the Cross the Object of our Faith, then He will abide in us without fail). As the branch (Believer) cannot bear fruit of itself (one cannot Sanctify one’s self! it is impossible!), except it abide in the Vine (abiding in Him refers to the fact that we understand that every solution we seek, for whatever the need might be, is found only in Christ and the Cross; we must never separate Christ from the Cross [I Cor. 1:23; 2:2]); no more can you, except you abide in Me.

5 I am the Vine (not the Church, not a particular Preacher, not even a particular Doctrine, but Christ Alone), you are the branches (Believers): he who abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit (let us say it again; the Believer must understand that everything we receive from God comes to us exclusively through Christ and the Cross; that being the case, the Cross must ever be the Object of our Faith; then the Holy Spirit can develop fruit within our lives; it can be done no other way!): for without Me (what He did for us at the Cross) you can do nothing (the Believer should read that phrase over and over).

6 If a man abide not in Me (refuses to accept the Cross, which means he is serving “another Jesus” [II Cor. 11:4]), he is cast forth as a branch (is removed from the Source of Life), and is withered (without proper Faith in Christ and the Cross, the Believer ultimately withers); and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned (the implication is striking! if proper Faith in Christ and the Cross is Christ and the Cross is not maintained, the ultimate result is eternal Hell).

7 If you abide in Me (keep your Faith anchored in Christ and the Cross), and My Words abide in you (in fact, the entirety of the Word of God is the Story of “Christ and the Cross”), you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you (proper Faith in Christ and the Cross desires only the Will of God, which Will is guaranteed now to be carried forth).

8 Herein is My Father Glorified (that Believers totally and completely place their Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross), that you bear much fruit (meaning that Jesus did not die in vain, but that His Death on the Cross will result in “much fruit”); so shall you be My Disciples (Lk. 9:23-24).

9 As the Father has loved Me (the Heavenly Father loves us accordingly, as we abide in Christ), so have I loved you (the Good Shepherd gives His Life for the sheep): continue ye in My Love (we can continue in His Love, only as we continue in our Faith, which must ever have the Cross as its Object).

10 If you keep My Commandments (this can be done only by the Holy Spirit working within us, which He does according to our Faith in Christ and the Cross), you shall abide in My Love (this can be done only in the manner stated); even as I have kept My Father’s Commandments, and abide in His Love (the Father’s Commandment regarding Christ was that He was to go to the Cross [Mat. 16:21-24]; His Commandment to us is that we ever make Christ and the Cross Alone the Object of our Faith [Jn. 6:53]).

11 These things have I spoken unto you, that My Joy might remain in you (His Joy remains in us, only as our Faith is properly placed in Him and the Cross), and that your joy might be full (the Christian cannot know “full joy” until He properly understands the Cross, which means that he then properly understands Christ).

12 This is My Commandment, That you love one another (we can only do so through a proper understanding of the Cross), as I have loved you (He loved us enough to give His Life for us).

13 Greater love has no man than this (the epitome of love), that a man lay down his life for his friends (this portrays the Cross, as is obvious).

14 You are My friends (consequently, I lay down My Life for you), if you do whatsoever I Command you (as stated, we can only do what He Commands, as we allow the Holy Spirit latitude within our lives, which is done by ever making the Cross the Object of our Faith).

15 Henceforth I call you not servants (Faith in Christ and the Cross Alone can lift the Believer to a new status); for the servant knows not what his lord does (with faith improperly placed, the Lord cannot confide in us): but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of My Father I have made known unto you (therefore, we have no excuse!).

16 You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you (it is not really that we find the Lord; the truth is, He finds us), and ordained you (has chosen us for a purpose), that you should go and bring forth fruit (as stated, we can only do this by ever looking to the Cross [Gal. 6:14]), and that your fruit should remain (as our Faith remains in the Cross, the fruit will remain): that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My Name (using His Name always refers to the victory He won at the Cross), He may give it you.

17 These things I Command you, that you love one another (if Faith is improperly placed, there is no love, even as there can be no love).”

Philippians 3:17-21 King James Version (KJV)

ENEMIES OF THE CROSS DOCTRINE

17 Brethren, be followers together of me (be "Fellow-imitators"), and mark them which walk so as you have us for an ensample (observe intently).

18 (For many walk (speaks of those attempting to live for God outside of the victory and rudiments of the Cross of Christ), of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping (this is a most serious matter), that they are the enemies of the Cross of Christ (those who do not look exclusively to the Cross of Christ must be labeled "enemies"):

19 Whose end is destruction (if the Cross is ignored, and continues to be ignored, the loss of the soul is the only ultimate conclusion), whose God is their belly (refers to those who attempt to pervert the Gospel for their own personal gain), and whose glory is in their shame (the material things they seek, God labels as "shame"), who mind earthly things.) (This means they have no interest in Heavenly things, which signifies they are using the Lord for their own personal gain.)

20 For our conversation (citizenship) is in Heaven (meaning the other ways will have no place in Heaven); from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ (the Rapture):

21 Who (the Lord) shall change our vile body (the Resurrection), that it may be fashioned like unto his Glorious body (every Saint will have a Glorified Body), according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself. ("All things" are done through the Cross.)

All things are done through the Cross. If you leave the Cross, you enter death (Romans 8:1-2, 6, 13)

Most Christians are practicing Salvation by "Faith," and Sanctification by "self (lukewarm)?" Gal. 5:2

If it is sanctification by "self" and not sanctification by Grace through Faith and Him Crucified ONLY, it is "LAW."

The Righteousness of God is imputed to a person only on the basis of Faith in Christ, and what Christ has done at the Cross. Romans 4:5

Works of the flesh
Paul tells us this in the 5th Chapter of Galatians. The entire Book of Galatians, but especially the 5th Chapter, is a warning from Paul to the Church at Galatia, which is also meant for us. The warning is that if they place their faith in anything except “Christ and Him Crucified,” that “Christ shall profit you nothing” (Gal. 5:2).

The Apostle goes on to say that if the Believer doesn’t adhere to the Way of the Spirit, which is the Way of the Cross, then works of the flesh will manifest themselves. He said:

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God” (Gal. 5:19-21).

Now let me say it again, because it is so very important:
If the Believer doesn’t understand the Cross of Christ, as it regards Sanctification, then, in some way, one or more of these “works of the flesh” are going to manifest themselves in his life. As stated, such is inevitable! The first four, “Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, and lasciviousness,” are obvious and easily understood. But the modern Christian quickly dismisses “idolatry, witchcraft, and heresies,” thinking they do not really apply today.

Let us address that:
First of all, any suggested way of victory other than the Cross of Christ, such as the “Purpose Driven Life,” the “Government of Twelve,” the “Word of Faith,” or “Denominationalism,” etc., constitutes idolatry. In effect, it is the same as Old Testament times, when Israel would begin to worship idols instead of Jehovah. To be sure, Israel actually referred to these idols as Jehovah; but the Lord definitely did not look at it in the same manner! And neither does He look any differently at modern idolatry! Furthermore, all of this constitutes “heresies,” in which the modern Church abounds.

Let me say it more clearly:
Any doctrine, way, scheme, or direction made up by men, which means it is devised by men and not by God, is constituted by the Lord as “heresy,” which is a “work of the flesh.” Let me say it again, and because it is so very, very important! Any way other than “Christ and Him Crucified” is, in the eyes of God, “heresy.” Once one begins to understand these “works of the flesh,” these things become more obvious.

The only way to God is through Jesus Christ (John 14:6)...the only way to Jesus Christ is by the Means of the Cross (Luke 14:27). The only way to the Cross is a denial of self (Luke 9:23). If any person tries to come any other way, Jesus says, "they are a thief and a robber" (John 10:1).

And he said to them all, If any man will come after Me (the criteria for Discipleship), let him deny himself (not asceticism as many think, but rather that one denies one's own willpower, self-will, strength, and ability, depending totally on Christ), and take up his cross (the benefits of the Cross, looking exclusively to what Jesus did there to meet our every need) daily (this is so important, our looking to the Cross; that we must renew our Faith in what Christ has done for us, even on a daily basis, for Satan will ever try to move us away from the Cross as the Object of our Faith, which always spells disaster), and follow Me (Christ can be followed only by the Believer looking to the Cross, understanding what it accomplished, and by that means alone [Rom. 6:3-5, 11, 14; 8:1-2, 11; 1 Cor. 1:17-18, 21, 23; 2:2; Gal. 6:14; Eph. 2:13-18; Col. 3:14-15]). Luke 9:23

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it (try to live one's life outside of Christ and the Cross): but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it (when we place our Faith entirely in Christ and the Cross, looking exclusively to Him, we have just found "more Abundant Life" [John 10:10]) Luke 9:24

You're not understanding what I am saying so it's time for me to walk away from our discussion on this as I can't go on repeating myself so you have a good day and God bless.

Nothing wrong with fasting if you can do it ,do so.its not for salvation but to seek a petition, prayer etc ..
In the Eyes of God the Believer who’s Faith trust in Christ and His Righteous Work at Calvary is being obedient to the Faith. The Church of Ephesus was doing good things and deeds, however, God wasn’t in these works. Therefore, they had fallen from the obedient from Gods Eyes.

“4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against you (something is wrong, despite their zeal), because you have left your first love (not “lost” your first love, but rather “left” your first love; it refers to a departure from the Cross, and is so serious that it will lead the Church to ruin unless Repentance is forthcoming).”

“5 Remember therefore from where you are fallen (this means they fell from Grace, which means they had stopped depending on Christ and the Cross [Gal. 5:4]), and repent, and do the first works (go back to the Cross); or else I will come unto you quickly, and will remove your candlestick out of his place, except you repent. (Christ is the Source of the Light, but the Cross is the means. They are to come back to the Cross, or else the Light will be removed.)” Revelation 2:4-5

Pastor Curtis / JSM

As I stated before, fasting is scriptural, however the Believer must be led by the Holy Spirit to do this work as Jesus was led to fast 40 days or it is judged as iniquity. Remember "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil" had good in it, however it is not the good that comes from Righteousness! Matthew 4:1-2, 1 Cor. 7:5-7, Matthew 7:21-23

Fasting doesn't bring victory over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil.

I don't see any one suggesting reading the bible, praying ,doing acts called for us to ,or alms, giving ,or fasting as needed to be saved but if you aren't I question if you are saved.

If I,tell my,wife I love her ,I must also actually, act as if i do.love is acting not just saying it.

All of your responses are extremely convoluted and distort your response. How dare you accuse me of apostasy when I’m just somebody who’s just trying to share his testimony. You have a very self righteous air about you, and you seem like you have a know-it-all response to everything.

What do you have against fasting anyway? You seem like you’re against me encouraging others about it.

I understand all these scriptures about fasting, but Jesus never gave a command or a particular time, place or method as while Jesus was with the disciples there was no need to fast. Fasting is associated primarily with mourning or for spiritual need or anxiety. We mourn because Jesus is no longer with us like He was with His disciples while he was on earth, Matthew 9:14-17.

Fasting is appropriate in this day and age, because Christ is physically absent from the earth. But it is appropriate only as a response to special times of testing, trial and struggles like in the OT. Jesus taught us how to fast in Matthew 6:16-18

Actually I believe He did back in Leviticus 16:29-31
29 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:

30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.

31 It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.../

To afflict our soul means to fast.

You love your wife through Christ, and not yourself...without Him you can do nothing!

Look I'm not a Calvinist and even my,pastor who is,says I choose,I must repent,I must sanctify,crucify my flesh,I ask,God to cleanse me.he doesn't and can't and won't force his will to make us do anything we don't .

Without getting into a Calvinist debate

If the Believers Faith is not placed and maintained exclusively in Christ and the Finished Work at Calvary Cross where the victory was won, i.e., the Blood of Jesus, GRACE Stops (Gal. 2:21)! Christ will not profit you at all (Gal. 5:4). You will see it in your finances, and your health, etc.. Why? Because the soul in not prospering (3 John 2:2, Rom. 8:2).

So I,guess somehow ,magically ,you, see that the posters who do ,endorse fasting ,denying food ,somehow don't believe God will, answer prayer or that they by themselves cam overpower the enemy.

You really don't understand fasting and how it works,it is Not ,I deny my body to gain God's grace, nor mercy but to afflict my flesh to remove its power ,so that I can seek, pray more powerful, any fast is at first sought from God ,to implore what ,and why a fast should be,at times its to seek deliverance ,souls won ,

Why on earth any one thinks that denies, disobey God ,implies work based salvation is beyond me.

Irc the apostle Paul fasted .

Read up,exactly,no if Jesus fasted, prayed, and took, communion ,and was baptised, why can't we and two of those are commands,

God,the Son fasted for the Will of the Father to be done.if the Son needed to deny his flesh ,I guess I'm,missing why its a problem.

Please point to me where any one has said its to be saved?

Jesus said these words, " I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is Righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me (John 5:30). Matthew 4:1-2 said Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit to fast, which means He did not use His will to fast.

Are you led by the Holy Spirit to fast (the Fathers will)? Or are you fasting without being led by the Holy Spirit (your own will) which is iniquity?
