I am going to show you a magic trick.
The answer will be 1089.
Now for the trick:
Ask someone to pick any three numbers from one to nine. No zeros.
491 for example.
Ask them to reverse the numbers and subtract the smaller from the larger.
491-194=397
Take the difference 397, reverse that, 793 and add them together. What do you get?
793+397=1089
This will work for any three numbers but no zeros. Zeros cause the trick to fail.
If you get a difference of less than three numbers you may add a zero to correct and come up with the 1089 number.
Example:
958-859=99
99+990=1089
961-169=792
792+297=1089
Try it then amaze your friends.
(I know, what a nerd.)
