I want to share a miracle in my life with all of you.

More than an year ago, I was a porn addict... I could hardly go a day without watching porn.

At that time, I was a Sikh (a follower of Sikhism) but one night when I was masturbating and watching porn, I was frustrated with myself and my addiction and prayed to Guru Nanak (the founder of Sikhism) to help me... I had prayed hundreds of times to Guru Nanak and Waheguru (the name of God in Sikhism) but they never helped me but that time was something different... After my closing rituals of masturbation I went to sleep but the day after that I had no compulsion to watch porn or masturbate...

I have not voluntarily ejaculated in over an year and the porn does not arouse me anymore.

I'm no longer sexually attracted to pornstars or any other females, but I'm still romantically attracted to "normal" females.

This was the first and last miracle from God in my life, but I should also mention that I suffer from PSSD-like symptoms.

Thanks for reading and sorry if this post was all over the place.

I am pleased that you have control over your sexual desires.
You attribute this to God, yet don't know whether it was the Christian God or the Skih one.
That you have posted on a Christian forum leads me to think you have an interest in Christjanity.
I am right with this assumption?

I don't believe in the Christian God or the Sikh God, I believe in just God. The one and only true God that is above the bounds of religion.

I'm spiritual but not religious.

Thank you for your reply.

I am always puzzled how ' spiritual ' people determine just what is acceptable or not in there worship and service of their unknown God.

My bias to Christianity means I see good deeds as a demonstration of love for God, not ameans of gaining merit/karma.

I don't know about others but I determine them by common sense... I don't need a puny book to tell me what's right or wrong.

Sorry for my bad English.

Sorry for the long delay in replying.

Talking to people about what is of value or helpful spiritually and I get different answer that are often contradictory.
I ask how do we know something is beneficial to us physically or spiritually?
Physically we have scientists, doctors etc who can point to proven experience entering etc.

Spiritually if we are not relying on priests etc the we have to investigate what religious books and practices teach or show us.

Looking at the world's religions they nearly all expect the worshipper to gain merit, karma, to achieve enlightenment, grace etc
The worshipper has to earn or deserve the gods attention.

Except Christianity.
That say we cannot by our efforts pleas God, that we deserve only God's wrath, but that it is God's mercy y and grace that he gives us faith, that he forgives those who earnestly seek him.

Hey All,
Padre Pio, congratulations on your miracle. Some people struggle with their addiction their whole life. So yes that's a miracle.

I would ask you to consider this: Perhaps while you were praying to Guru Nanak (the founder of Sikhism), somebody else heard your prayer. You said;
"I had prayed hundreds of times to Guru Nanak and Waheguru (the name of God in Sikhism) but they never helped me but that time was something different..."

Perhaps this time the true and living God, that you truly believe in, showed up and answered your prayer. This act shows you the difference between the false gods you were praying to: And the one true and living God you say you believe in. If anyone has a reason to learn more about this true and living God, its you Padre.

When we receive a miracle, we as believers give thanks to God. Let's do that now.

Father, we come before you today with praise and thanksgiving for the many blessings you bestow upon us. We particularly want to thank You for the miracle You gave to Padre Pio. Thank You for answering his prayer. We know it was You because this time the prayer did not come back void. Please continue to reveal Yourself to Padre Pio. Thank You again. Amen.

Keep searching Padre. God's revelation to you is not finished. That puny little book (The Bible) can help. Its not scary. its life-changing.
Keep walking everybody. May Go
d bless,
Taz

I think you are right! Maybe it was the real God who heard my prayer this time and decided to help me... 😇
