This is the worst time of year for so many as they stress over every little detail, but just do not take the time to celebrate the importance of the Christ child. Many that never go to church throughout the year find themselves sitting in a Christmas service, but after leaving that is where they leave the baby Jesus. The family needs to get back celebrating the one who gave us the greatest gift of all and not just one day a year, but everyday.

To me,
All that preparation for Christmas you do with others is the object of the exercise. That's the stuff that makes Christmas wonderful and blessed.
Hunting down trees and killing them then covering them with memorable trinkets of Christmas past and present.
Putting up lights and cussing at the hammer hitting cold thumbs. Those darn lawn decorations that find every rock just below the surface every time...and GFIs that keep turning off your lights at the slightest bit of moisture.
Mom fussing in the kitchen making cookies and candies and cakes and other holiday treats.
Christmas parties at work that they force you to attend where someone always gets too much adult beverages consumed and behaves poorly.
The Dirty Santa game that everyone plays invariably causing someone to get their feelings hurt over.

The family congregating at someone's house saying just exactly the wrong things and asking questions in the rudest fashion possible about your private life you didn't want to share with your family.

The gifts under the tree are always a let down as they got you something close to what you wanted but just not right at the same time.

But this is Christmas. It happens every year this way. And you can run away from it or embrace the good, reject the bad and have a wonderful time each year getting ready for the "Coming of the King".
