Yes. That is exactly right. The change of priesthood and the law was how sins were dealt with/forgiven/absolved. That changed from detailed instructions on the sin, guilt and Yom Kippur sacrifices done by the Levitical priests to the sacrifice of our Lord, done by the Melchizedek high priest.

So you agree the law of Moses has been taken out of the way?

Depends on what you mean by "taken out of the way." For salvation? Yes. For living a holy life? No.

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

Remember - when Paul wrote this the ONLY scriptures extant were what we call the OT.

Depends on what you mean by "taken out of the way."

Taken out of the way, wiped out, nailed to the cross, abolished.

I know you understand what these terms mean.

Kaput, no more, gone, done away with, removed, no longer valid…

And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Colossians 2:13-14

For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
Ephesians 2:14-16

We don’t follow the law of Moses for salvation, for holy living, for righteousness, or anything else.

The law of Moses is not of faith.

The Holy Spirit does not lead people to keep the law of Moses.

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Galatians 5:18

Unfortunately that has been the evangelical understanding for a long time. BUT it is only partly correct.

Please note the word "uncircumcision." The Law was not given to the uncircumcised. And what was nailed to the cross was the judgement against us, NOT the righteous teaching of the law.
From the Tree of Life Version:

13 When you were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive together with Him when He pardoned us all our transgressions. 14 He wiped out the handwritten record of debts with the decrees against us, which was hostile to us. He took it away by nailing it to the cross.
We don’t follow the law of Moses for salvation, for holy living, for righteousness, or anything else.
According to Paul we DO follow it for right living. Is it for salvation? Of course not. But only 10% (my estimate) of the NT has to do with salvation. Most of it is about how we are supposed to live AFTER we are saved.
The Holy Spirit does not lead people to keep the law of Moses.

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Galatians 5:18
"Under the Law" and "without the Law" are 2 very different things.

Under the Law implies judgement and condemnation. But since the word translated Law (greek nomos) from the Hebrew Torah, actually means training or instruction, to be without the Law means we are without God's instructions. That is absolutely not the case.

Unfortunately that has been the evangelical understanding for a long time. BUT it is only partly correct.

The scriptures I gave you, with the words and phrases emphasized, are not from evangelicals but are directly from Jesus Christ.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Romans 10:4

Which one of these scriptures do you disagree with.

I do not disagree with any of the scriptures themselves.
What I disagree with is your understanding of them.

I have explained what I believe they are saying. That is different from what you claim they are saying. What may seem obvious to you is NOT as obvious to someone else.
