Sick disturbed people might disagree, they think children and teens should be allowed to participate and view and be a part of any material a adult gives them or shows them. And sick disturbed people will cry the 1st amendment to try get there ways.

Who's hiding history?
State of Texas...
Republicans in the Texas House passed a bill Tuesday that effectively bans public school teachers from talking about racism, white supremacy or current news events.
The bill, which is being fast-tracked to Republican Gov. Greg Abbott to sign into law, states that social studies and civics teachers aren’t allowed to discuss the concept that “one race or sex is inherently superior to another race or sex,” or the idea that “an individual, by virtue of the individual’s race or sex, bears responsibility for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race or sex.”

Florida even went so far as to require teachers to teach that slavery was good for black people.

New Florida standards teach students that some Black people benefited from slavery because it taught useful skills

The standards, which were blasted by a statewide teachers' union as a "step backward," were approved Wednesday by the State Board of Education.

So it's important to make sure kids have access to uncensored history. In some states they are "protected" from being taught the truth.

I dont see anything wrong with that.

Yeah, that's pretty dumb. But how is that censoring history?

Covering up the history of racism in our society is the way Abbot intends to rewrite history. Censoring what history can be taught in public school classes is the next step in the right-wing agenda.

Instead of evil horror slavery was republicans in Florida want to hide that truth and teach school kids that it was a "benefit" to slaves.

No, it's not. You democrats are obsessed with race and blaming white people today for the sins of their ancestors that may or may not have even owned slaves. It's the biblical concept of original sin, which is itself pernicious, being combined with identity politics, that is both polarizing and disgusting.

Instead of evil horror slavery was republicans in Florida want to hide that truth and teach school kids that it was a "benefit" to slaves.
Which I already said is dumb.

Instead of making up stories about what I think, maybe you should just address the censorship of history by radical republicans. If you didn't do any of those things to people, and you realize those things were evil and wrong, then you shouldn't feel guilty about it. Set the guilt aside and consider the consequences of censoring history from our children.

No, it's just acknowledging what went on back then. Guilt is exactly what's causing this issue. If you didn't do those things and you know they are wrong, you shouldn't feel guilty.

It's evil and unAmerican. It's shameful for anyone to support people who do that.

Really? I'm a Democrat and I've never done anything like that. Do you have an example of a Dem blaming white people of today for people owning slaves centuries ago?

The idea behind reparations is that white people today must atone for the sins of their ancestors.
No it's not. It's not going to each white person in the country, saying "You are personally responsible for the slavery that took place 200+ years ago", and then forcing them to hand over money.

Instead, it's "The US as a whole benefited greatly from the exploitation of slave labor, and those slaves were denied much of those benefits both during slavery and over the ensuing centuries, which continues to have legacy effects today. Therefore, the US as a whole owes the descendants some of those benefits."

Those are two very different concepts.

So, black Americans are paying themselves reparations in this scenario?
