wasnt the Chinese whistleblower doctor who died of the virus in his mid 30s ?

Yea, nothing suspicious about Chinese whistleblowers that suddenly die. The witness also randomly died of the virus.

Did I mention that major supermarkets here have run out of toilet paper? Ive been 3 times this week and toilet roll shelves are bare.
Hand sanitisers run out too.

You are saying the Chinese Government murdered these "troublemakers"?
As much as I am appalled by reading human rights attocities being committed in China, I am not convinced the Govt. interfered here. But you might be right.

Mostly because the Democratic primary election is really really boring and pointless.
But in this instance...the media is not telling the whole story.
This virus is coming and it's going to kill a lot of people.
They are trying to slow it down...but it's not working.
The World Health Organization is all over this...for a reason. They are scared.
Between 50-250 million people are going to die from this. That's not cool.

Usually the media tells you what you want to hear, but in this case it's telling you what you don't want to hear. The only problem is that they're not telling you enough of what you need to hear.

That helps...but there's always that bozo who comes to work sick...and infects everyone.
Except in this case helps the company out by killing all those about to retire.

They could develop a vaccine of the Corona Virus, but unfortunately, there isn't a cure for sheer stupidity. :rolleyes

Its a selective virus. Healthy people in their 30s are in no real danger from it. Anyone over 60 should take reasonable precautions like washing their hands, and pray for health. A 30 year old would not be in any danger from the virus, but if not careful could give the virus to a senior. People could endanger their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles if they are careless. Its best if everyone takes reasonable precautions to protect those over 60. Keep it away from seniors until a treatment can be developed.

Well that's really good to know considering that I just turned thirty last month. :)

No one of course. Best if everyone takes reasonable precautions.

In parts of Asia its considered the polite thing to do for sick people to wear face masks in public to protect those around them.

Yeah but if you aren't sick then it really isn't going to do you much good to wear one. A vaccine would work a lot better.

That might explain why there was no toilet paper in the ladies restroom at the movie theaters last night. Man, was that ever embarrassing. :oops2 (Sorry if that was a bit TMI XD!! :lol)

Bring on the vaccine. Until then, wash your hands, and don't breathe on elderly people if you catch a cold. If sick people wore masks like in Asia, that would help protect others from catching their cold.

Like I said before, washing your hands is great, but there's only so much that soap and water and hand sanitizer can do.

That's a bit overboard saying 50-250 million people are going to die, no one knows how many people are going to die or how long it will last.

When it comes to these issues, investors in masks and sanitizers make money, the media makes money, and everyone else just stays afraid and paranoid.

Is that just not common sense?. It's a normal everyday practice that people should wash there hands in general, and not cough or sneeze towards other people, especially babies and elderly people.

It's a normal civilised practice when you cough or sneeze you always cover it and never direct it towards another person or open air.

No...it's not overboard or over the top.
The whistle blower was a healthy 57...they had to hook him up to a ventilator to help him breathe...and he still died.
Now how many of those gizmos do the hospitals have lying about? Especially if there are a thousand cases of this.

The world is gearing up to handle this. But it's still not ready.
We don't have a sure fire antiviral. We don't have a vaccine like we do now for the flu.
Just like the influenza pandemic that killed a lot of people during WWI...we are in the same exact shape. They tried isolation for the sick...they had similar medicines as we do today.

This is a lot more serious than you think.

Flue vaccines ,once you contract it doesn't kill ,any viral vaccine or bacterial are simply to build immunity ,and despite that you can still get sick.

Had the flue a few times despite vaccination .

Well they are worried about the panic to riot status. (Which will do as much or more damage as the virus) and they will be legally liable.

All the panic isn't good either...
But they don't have medicine for this.

That's not good...that's the whole problem.
It's not just a few isolated cases... look at what is happening in Italy... from 60 cases to a thousand...and you are talking about a month long incubation. Meaning that the one thousand were getting infected by the 60 and didn't know it because no one felt sick.

They were successful with SARS...they stopped it. They isolated it and had a successful treatment and cure because it got reported in time.
This one didn't get reported in time...it got away from being controlled long ago and that's why there's a whistle blower. And everyone is pissed off at the Chinese Government including their own people.

We lost valuable time because of cover-ups. Now we are going to all pay the price.
We are doing what we can...but vaccines and antivirals take time to test as well as manufacture.

Your Word for Today

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the House of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them who obey not the Gospel of God? And if the Righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? (I Pet. 4:17-18).

After the horror of 9/11/01, when the lives of some 4,000 Americans were snuffed out due to Muslim terrorism, two Preachers of my acquaintance were interviewed over Network Television. They were asked why the Lord allowed this to happen to America.

Their answer was most interesting! Both agreed, “It is because of the homosexuals and the abortionists in this nation!”

That is basely incorrect!

While the two sins mentioned definitely are abominable, as should be overly obvious, that is not the problem in this country. According to the Word of God, the problem is the “House of God.” The Church in America has failed, and failed miserably! The Gospel is little preached from behind fashionable pulpits. The Cross of Christ, the very heartbeat of Christianity, has been relegated to the dustbin of antiquated doctrines, no longer applicable, or so it is said, for this modern age.

What I have just said is, in effect, the same as what Jesus said: “Verily I say unto you, that the Publicans and the harlots go into the Kingdom of God before you” (Mat. 21:31). Jesus certainly wasn’t condoning the sins of thievery and harlotry. What He was saying was that while the publicans and the harlots would repent, or at least some of them would, the religious leaders of Israel would not repent (Mat. 21:32).

Judgment always begins with Believers, and pertains to their Faith, whether in the Cross or otherwise; the Cross alone is spared judgment, for there Jesus was judged in our place.

If God will judge His Own, how much more will He judge the unredeemed? The Cross alone stays the Judgment of God. That must ever be understood.

The modern Church in this country is little preaching the Gospel. If it was preaching the Gospel, i.e., “the Cross,” which, as stated, alone stays the Judgment of God, then this nation would escape much punishment, and could very well have escaped the horror of 9/11/01.

Because it is so important, let us say it again:

If the Church faithfully preaches the Cross, most Judgment can be spared, for there Jesus was judged in our place. If the Cross is little preached, the nation is opened up for Judgment, and that’s exactly what is happening! The Cross of Christ alone stands between man and eternal Hell. We must never forget that (Eph. 2:13-18; Gal. 6:14). “

It may be a normal procedure in New Zealand. In the USA I have seen lots of people coughing in public with no attempt to cover their mouths.

Tamiflu can help prevent flu viruses from multiplying in your body, if you take it within a couple of days of the first symptom manifesting. Unfortunately, it is so complicated to obtain that much of the time people don't get it in time to do any good. It should be OTC, so people can keep a container of it at home to take at the first symptom.

Flu vaccines are only about 50% effective. They only protect against certain strains, and not others. Better than nothing, but not a panacea.

Vulnerable people can get a pneumonia vaccine by prescription that protects against 23 strains of pneumonia. Secondary infections to flu and common cold lead to a lot of hospitalizations. If you haven't had Pneumovax 23 yet, you might ask your doctor about it. All asthmatics are recommended to get it. Again, pneumonia vaccines are better than nothing, but are not a panacea.

Who says that the nova Coronavirus won't mutate ?

Who says that the nova Coronavirus won't mutate ?

It probably will. Keeping up with regular mutations is a constant activity for vaccine makers.

Consumer Reports said:
They also had significantly less virus shedding, which means they were much less likely to spread the illness to others.

One additional factor with Tamiflu. It helps protect any older family members in the house. Its only effective versus the flu, not the common cold though. It does nothing for bacterial infections such as strep, which need antibiotics.

There is currently no one solution for the myriad microbes out there. It requires constant vigilance to protect ourselves and others.
