Perhaps not all who claim to be led by the Spirit are.
Church history is no doubt full of examples of influential people who were not what they claimed.
Act 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Act 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
Act 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.Kjv

So who is correctly led by the Spirit?
The Southern Baptists?
The Methodists?
The African Methodist Episcopals?
The Lutherans?
The Pentecostals?
The Assemblies of God?
The Methodists?
The Armenians?
The Calvinists?
They can't all be right.
Which one is led by the Holy Spirit leaving the rest identified as heretics?

You left out the Eastern, Greek and Russian Orthodox and don't forget the Roman church, the Coptic, the Episcopalian, Anglican, to name just a few.
Do you think these should be excluded from a modern day inquisition?

Are you suggesting that only denominations are led by the Holy Spirit (which most certainly would be limiting)? I have always believed that individuals are empowered by the HS which would make it 'extra-denominatal'.

What I was responding to was the notion of being right be3cause one is led by the Holy Spirit.
The question is: how does anyone know that they are correctly hearing from the Holy Spirit?
Why is person A's answer from the Holy Spirit different from person B's answer.
People claim that they are right because they've been personally told by the Holy spirit and whoever doesn't agree with them doesn't hear from the Holy Spirit like THEY do.
That's a bunch of rot.
