2 Corinthians 4:18, "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

Not the catholics. They don't have any faith in the unseen so they focus on statues, people, and rituals that are seen. Sorry Catholics, but all those statues will crumble and break. All the art in the Vatican will be destroyed and so will the bread and wine that you pass out at Communion.

So those objects are no more sacred than a piece of scrap metal that also will be destroyed and no more belong in a worship ceremony than a statue of Buddha. No perishable object is sacred. Only what is eternal is sacred, which is precisely what God is talking about in Deuteronomy 4:15 and John 4:23.

John 4:23, "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is Spirit, and his worshipers must worship him in Spirit and in truth."

But the catholics have a problem since they have 2 Fathers; God and the pope. So they don't know which one to give their allegiance to. So far, they have abandoned the words of their Father in heaven in Matthew 23:5-12, Deuteronomy 4:15, Exodus 20:4, Matthew 1:25, 2 Corinthians 4:18, John 4:23, 2 Peter 2:3, and many other verses for the pope's words that say the opposite. Of course that's why Jesus tells us not to call anyone on earth 'father" because people begin believing their earthly father (what is seen) over their Father in heaven (the unseen). But that's what disobeying Jesus does; creates confusion and making up one lie after another to try to justify why one should believe their earthly father.

So if the catholics really care about their salvation, then they should listen only to the only one who can give them salvation; Jesus Christ, not human beings. None of their pagan ritulas and perishable objects can get them to heaven because no perishable object or ritual has eternal life nor can they jump into your heart and give you life. Only the Holy Spirit can give you life which all born again Christians know. So we don't need statues and objects to worship God because we fix our eyes on the unseen. :)
