What can we say about hope? It is one of the three things in 1 Corinthians that is said to always be there. But what is it? What started this topic is a thought differing hope from confidance.
Hope is for the lost. Those who don't know how things will turn out, but hope on what might be. Confidence is for the strong who think they know what's going to happen, or think they can make it through it.
If there's any truth from that then my contribution to what we can say about hope is that hope is humble. There's always the chance that the hope is wrong. As scary as that is it does seem to fit the attitudes of those who have hope. You hope for the best but still strive with your best efforts because it might not pan out.
