3. What do we do with the Old Testament laws that call for death for those who: work on the Sabbath, who don't believe in God, who blasphemes, cursing mother or father, committing adultery, rebellious children?

What do we do? The short answer with out elaborating to much is simple. Become a born again Christian by accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior. By doing this you are now covered in the Blood and not guilty of the law.

Why did God send Jesus to the cross? To save us from our sins, but how do we know that we have sinned if it was not for the law? The law exposes our sins and condemns each of us to the grave.

Okay, that saves the Christian from the possibility of death, . . .but the laws were also given to those who had to punish these acts. If there was a call for the stoning of a rebellious son, why do we not do that today? Why do we not kill those who are witches? Why don't we kill those who work on the Sabbath, or commit adultery? If these were Laws set by God, and God never changes, then why aren't these sentences still caried out today by the church?

Here's my take on it. These laws were those laws founded by the rulers of the Hebrew people, and based many of them on the Hammurabi Code or some other cultural laws. I seriously don't believe that God wanted such penalties to be carried out. But to keep a group of people in line, I can see how a ruling counsel (or whomever) would create stiff laws to keep order.
