I was just wondering something. If a man or a woman is dating somebody or engaged, is it or should it be alright to hug another person of the opposite sex and or kiss them on the cheek?

It's mentioned 5 times in gospel to greet
one another with a holy kiss.
These days people will probably get offended and cry sexual assault.
What's wrong with a hug and kiss on the cheek when it's done out of love. Some cultures still greet with a kiss.
Romans 16:16 Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.
1 Corinthians 13:12 Greet one another with an holy kiss
1 Thessalonians 5:26 Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
1 Peter 5:14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
A hug and a holy kiss is nothing more than a greeting of love towards another, but not everyone is comfortable with it as they feel it's like someone coming on to them.

All I did was say hi to a woman the other week and 6 big guys surrounded me and wanted a fight. Lol. Must have been her boyfriend and mates or something. Lol. She actually come back and applogised to me for them being idiots. They fled by my words anyhow. I'm a lover not a fighter.
Sounds like you were living in Saudi and forgot to wear your burka.
So if I was to meet some different people from this site in person...
I'm probably going to at least hug them. Even some of the guys with a bro hug.
Others...pinky finger shaking of hands.

Your post made me giggle.Once I had a lady ask me not to hug her
I respected her wishes. It wasn't like I was going for a flirtatious type hug or anything. My wife was right there with me. But apparently it made her uncomfortable. So I didn't.
I hug all my in-laws and friends. No big deal.
My son gets hugs all the time. He is almost two of me now. (Big guy)
If someone is uncomfortable with it I'm ok with that. It's not about me so much as it is them. But there's something about the expressed love for family and friends that a hug conveys...it's wonderful to give and receive.
If you don't like it... just say so. If you aren't accustomed to giving or receiving hugs...why not? I've seen some that at first were shy...but grew to love it. It's just a way to express my love (not romantic) to others.
My wife gets a very very different sort of hug from me...and it's accompanied with kisses.
So there's a huge difference.
