For those of us who are really tired of listening to a whining liar and cheat that's gotten caught, if the following is the reality of the duration of this trial, it will be a great blessing for them.

"On Monday in New York City, I will be forced to sit fully gagged," Trump said Saturday, though the former president is permitted to address most elements of the case, including targeting both Bragg and Merchan. "I'm not allowed to talk. Can you believe it?

Important to keep in mind exactly what Donald's on trial for....paying a porn actress hush money to keep quiet about the sex they had while he was married to his third wife.

He's such a good Christian man. :rolleyes

The danger for Trump in hush-money case: Refreshing people’s memories

A former president of the United States went on trial for the first time in American history on Monday. And as any political analyst will tell you, this Manhattan “hush money”/election-interference case is the least concerning to voters of Trump’s four indictments.

But what’s also true is that Americans have overwhelmingly found the facts of this case to be problematic. And they could soon learn (or relearn) plenty about something that potential Trump voters especially haven’t followed closely but could be troubling to them.

Basically, people will be reminded of not only the sleazy things he did, but also of the illegal actions he took to cover it all up.

His devout followers do not care about any "truth". And if the liberals and independent's don't give him the Whitehouse, he will call on his devout followers to pick up their guns to take it. There are a lot of service members in every branch of the US military who will follow him not matter what, do you remember the picture of him on that aircraft carrier and how many were wearing those red hats?

It certainly doesn't seem that way.

It'll be fascinating for sure. We already know that if he loses he'll say the election was "rigged" and/or "stolen" from him. It's basically his catch phrase (he said it after Obama won in 2012, after he lost the 2016 Iowa primary to Cruz, after he won the 2016 election, and of course after he lost the 2020 election).

The questions will be, just how far will he go this time and how many of his loyalists will heed his call to action (should he make one)?

I'm sure he knows this is his last chance politically. If he loses again, that's it...he's done. Plus, there's a chance that if he doesn't get elected he could face actual jail time. So both those together make me think he might just throw caution to the wind and directly call for an armed uprising, which brings us to the second question.

A lot of his followers are in federal prison after their attempted violent coup in 2021, so I'm not sure a ton of them are eager to suffer the same fate. Federal prison ain't no joke.

As hush money trial begins, Trump’s sex life emerges as key theme

NEW YORK — The opening day of Donald Trump’s criminal trial delved deep into his tabloid-fueled sex life, as lawyers and the judge debated how many salacious details jurors should eventually hear as they decide whether he broke the law to cover up hush money payments...

...Prosecutors wanted to tell the jury that he also had an affair with Karen MacDougal, a Playboy model, at a time when his wife, Melania Trump, was pregnant with his child...

...Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass argued that the details of the McDougal affair were important to show Trump’s state of mind and behavior when allegations of sexual impropriety surfaced against him.

The judge said the jury could be told about the affair, but not the additional detail that at the time Melania Trump was pregnant. That detail, he said, was prejudicial, although he reserved the right to change his thinking on that matter as other evidence is introduced during the trial.

Reports from the first day of the trial are that Donald nodded off a few times, which has spawned the term (and hashtag) "Sleepy Don".

Hi King Dan of Great the 1st

I appreciate your attempt at levity, but no. In the United States, and you may possibly not be familiar with all the laws that govern what politicians can do and how they can raise funds and use those funds, it is against the law to offer money for a bribe.

Grump paid the woman $130,000. to bribe her not to come out with the story she had. That's called a bribe here in the states. Even God condemns such bribes that twist the truth.

God bless,
Ted

I dont know much about laws and such. So whats the difference between a bribe and a plea deal in the justice system?. Is that not like offering someone something if they do something?

Hi again King Dan of Great the 1st

Which is the point of this thread. For those of us rather tired of listening to all of his whining and name calling and just generally uncivil behavior, it will be a breath of fresh air that hasn't been so tainted now that his speaking is limited.

Basically because it's out in the open, the bribe attempts to keep something hidden.

God bless,
Ted

So why did Trump allegedly pay someone hush money?. Did he do something illegal?.

Trump has been under constistant attacks people trying to put him away and the thing is the more this happens the more people get suspicious its politicially motivated and smells rank. Its never ending law suits.

The more people try damage Trump the more his fan base grows. Even if Trump was found guilty of an offense and thats the way it is, but i dont think he will lose any followers but will probably just gain more.
