This is an intriging question.
I would liike to know what the circumstances for your question are?
is the Mother a sole parent?
Is the first born son also the first born child?
Is this first born son a child or a youth or an adult?
A mother in the normal run of things is under the authority of her husband and so her authority over her son is subject to her husband and should support him.
As a parent the mother does have a responsibility to nurture her child in a Godly fashon, but this responsibility is not restricted in any way to a first born son, but is to be ministered to all her children with wisdom.
