What does it mean to be saved? I was raised Catholic and there was never any mention of being saved. Is being saved simply accepting and believing in Jesus?

Hi. Link
I understand this teaching of fulfillment of the Commandments. But in reality it isn't just I know it, because it is written in my heart or it is upon Jesus on the cross. Just like you see it is about to keep it. Many Christians don't know that the Sabbath is a day. It is the 7th day of creation. And it is written what to do on this special day. Why God said to: "REMEMBER"? Do you know why? Let me know okay. Bless

if i use scripture that says the exact truth word for word .its not man interpretation the term purgatory is not found in scripture. i challenged you to study out justification/ justified sanctify read 1 john 1:9 and read 1 john 1:7 study about being redeemedI've heard this claim more than once on here. Yet many sola scriptura perspectives are indeed man made. Your interpretation of scripture is man made.
You think you are quoting God directly every time you quote scripture?
After translations from another language. Contexts of what the culture was like in those countries 2000 years ago.
So many interpretations. 1000s of denominations. Look at all the arguing that goes on here. And that is just among sola scriptura members.
And then there is the varied Bible commentaries. Everyone is an amateur theologian. I prefer to read the professional theologians.
Yes. Nothing less.. nothing more..What does it mean to be saved? I was raised Catholic and there was never any mention of being saved. Is being saved simply accepting and believing in Jesus?

if you do a survey 90% of people will most likely answer yes they are saved. but you ask have you had a born again experience it throws them off. the word saved is used frequently in the Bible as well as converted .yes the word believe many associate believe simply believing in God..To me this is a simple but great CONTROVERSIAL question and topic.
For me, as an older believer, when I met the lord in 1978, the popular term of the day was "CONVERTED" or "BELIEVED".
You never heard the term "SAVED".
It just was never used.
let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.Lord save us. Save us from taking our version of being saved, too seriously
That question arises through an intrinsic understanding of justice (Proverbs 17:15). It is a question coming naturally, that sinners cannot answer without twisting upright judgment into their favour.Animal sacrifice - Like What?
That's what underpins the statement in Hebrews 10:26-27, especially verse 29. To understand why the blood of bulls and goats could never take away sins (it is because the blood of animals is a thing so common - they shed the same blood daily for food - therefore there is not enough power in the blood to invoke remorse and compel them to repent. The fact is that they believed their sin would be forgiven by shedding more blood, therefore the temple had become an industry of slaughter driven by sin. However, if the blood of Jesus Christ is unable to compel remorse for sin, then what more can be done? The one who disregards the blood of the covenant of grace is only fit for destruction (Isaiah 5:1-7).He knew our temptations, yet did not sin.
jerry63935not my version but scripture plainly tells us. you fall for so much wind doctrine your not even sure
