A few days ago I wrote a post in the Mod Forum that I would be leaving for a while. There is a bunch on my plate, and I did not think that I would have the time to be here. Since that post, a few discussions caught my eye and some reading that I am doing prompted me to "stay" and post.
But I must say in the past 3 days looking at the "hot topics", I must ask myself and you: What have you (I) accomplished?
Posts are dripping with sarcasm, subtle induendo, scathing comments, and structure fitting for a formal debate in an effort to 'win' or score points like we are in some spiritual debate wherby the 'winner' is deemed Most Theological Correct and winner of a free trip to Heaven.
And the sad thing is - eventually, most of the posts ADMIT that they are using sarcasm, and debate technigues in an effort to justify their comments!
Is that what this forum is for? Is that what the Lord wants us to do?
I guess it makes for great reading, and it makes the forum appear active and engaging. But at what price are you willing to "win" or appear 'correct'?
Geessh - here I thought we were supposed to be building up the community of faith, encouraging one another in Spirit and Love and Truth - to make the OTHER person better, not to make ourselves look 'correct'.
What have you accomplished today?
