the result determines your REWARD in the afterlife.
Which is the reward of resurrection unto life, by good works obedient to Christ unto the end.

1 Thess
{3:23} And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; {3:24} Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. {3:25} But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

The reward of doing unrighteous works of the flesh, is resurrection unto contempt and shame from God:

2 Peter
{2:12} But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; {2:13} And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, [as] they that count it pleasure to riot in the daytime. Spots [they are] and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

Even if your work is burned to nothing, you're still saved.
God does not grant repentance after the grave, neither purge sins in death.

Psalms
{6:4} Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake. {6:5} For in death [there is] no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

We are purified by obedience in this life alone. Only them obeying to the end are perfected in mind and body.

Heb
{5:8} Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; {5:9} And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

{12:22} But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, {12:23} To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect

Even if we give our bodies to be burned without Christ, it is not rewarded with resurrection unto life.

Work doesn't qualify your salvation, lack of work doesn't disqualify you from salvation,
Not if your salvation is by your own faith alone, and you refuse to have your salvation judged by your own works.

Romans
{2:3} And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

Our faith is judged by our works, whether it be faith of Jesus unto salvation, or faith of our own unto condemnation.

You won't be able to play your qualification-by-faith-alone card from the grave.

The delusion of such decietful doctrine, is that no one would be foolish enough to dare try and apply it to being qualified for payment of work, not by upon work done. So is the folly of being rewarded with eternal inheitance, not by doing the will of God.

It's all doctrinal faith alone, that is dressed up with high-sounding words of 'faith' in God, with no need to do obey God in works:

Prov
{11:21} [Though] hand [join] in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. {11:22} [As] a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, [so is] a fair woman which is without discretion.

1 Sam
..and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, [were] there with the ark of the covenant of God. {4:5} And when the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.
{4:10} And the Philistines fought, and Israel was smitten, and they fled every man into his tent: and there was a very great slaughter; for there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen. {4:11} And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain.

]{4:21} And she named the child I-chabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband. {4:22} And she said, The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken.

So it is with all Bible talk of grace, salvation, and justification of one's own faith alone, while purposely setting one's soul apart from keeping the cammandments of the Lord and doing the obedient works of God.

Salvation by one's own faith alone, despite still doing works of disobedience, is Ichabod gospel of one's own salvation and security of soul in this life alone, but in the next.

1 Tim
{4:8} For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
Romans

{1:18} For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Heb
{10:29} Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? {10:30} For we know him that hath said, Vengeance [belongeth] unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

Believers can say all they wish, that their Christ will not judge their own works like others doing the same things, or say they will not be condemned by those same works.

But that is not the righteous Lord Jesus Christ the Judge of all the earth, who has absolutely no respect of any person's beliefs and doctrines and ideoologies, when he comes to judge each and every one of us the same by the works we do in this life.

1 Peter
{1:14} As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: {1:15} But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; {1:16} Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. {1:17} And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning [here] in fear:

Saving and justifying oneself by their own faith alone, with no condemnation of their own unrighteous works, that the unrighteous do, is the vain hope of the hypocrite.

It removes the fear of the Lord's judgment, and replaces His fear with unconditional respect for their own faith alone.

Isaiah
{28:14} Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which [is] in Jerusalem. {28:15} Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
{28:16} Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner [stone,] a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. {28:17} Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

Christ came in the flesh to declare to His own people, that they chall not be excused from the Lord's righteous judgment of works, because of having the oracles of God and faith alone.

In the grave, no man's faith and doctrine shall save Him from having our works judged the same as all men, whether they be works of Christ unto life, or works of our own unto death.

but there'll be a painful lesson for those whose work fail to stand the test of fire.
Eternally painful:

Rev
{20:12} And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. {20:13} And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. {20:14} And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. (Rev. 2:22)
In this life alone, the Lord still has longsuffering mercy to repent.

At the end of this life, if we repent not, we are also cast from our own sick pleasure bed, that we made and kept for ourselves unto the end, into hell.

Luke
{13:2} And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? {13:3} I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
John
{15:6} If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast [them] into the fire, and they are burned.

I have nothing to do with your secular religious version of works of God based upon church clean up duties.
This world was created by God, all things are sacred, nothing is "secular". This is clearly expressed in those verses you quoted. Paul was a tentmaker, Jesus was a craftsman, Peter was a fisherman, David, Moses and Jacob were all shepherds, that didn't make them less holy in God's eyes.

Which is sinful man's religion, not God's pure religion.

Progressive sanctification by gradual repentance, in order to only sin less than before, is the not the whole conversion of Jesus Christ by repentance from dead works.
That is RELATIONSHIP, not religion. You can't earn salvation as much as you can't buy love. "Progressive sanctification" is a term for spiritual growth in Christ, only those who truly know Christ have that. For those who reject Christ or play religion, they're not even sanctified in the first place, they're those who practice lawlessness whom the Lord doesn't know. The purpose of this doctrine is to rebuke the idea of "a golden ticket to heaven" or "God's insurance policy", it's not about work based religion.

Relationship with who ?
If we walk in darkness, sin, we cannot say we have fellowship with God. (1 John 1:6)
Progressive sanctification is code for perpetual sinning.

With God. All who have a relationship walk in the light, but how far differs from person to person, and that's the progression, that's not sinning. If one walks in darkness, then he's not santicied at all, and he has no walk with God to begin with. Spiritual growth is a valid biblical teaching, that's what the meat and milk are all about. You won't understand as long as you hold onto the heresy of sinless perfection.

Darkness is to do darkness. ( unfruitfulness)

Romans 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

To believe in the testimony is to cast off the works of darkness. ( unfruitfulness)

The armour of light keeps those works of darkness off. ( or it would be an insufficient armour.)

To walk in light is to walk honestly, as in the day, no drunkenness, no strife, no envy, but it is putting on the Lrd Jesus Christ. ( the armour of light) and through Him, ( the light) we are not making any way for the flesh ( unfruitful works of darkness, to fulfil its lusts. ( through love we fulfil the Spirit.)

Romans 13:13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Spiritual growth happens when we stop growing what is not Spiritual, or it would hinder all thats of the Spirit...

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Strife and envy are not growth in the Spirit, so it is surely better to hear the testimony of the apostle Pal, instead of debate about it.

We cant do what is of the flesh if we want to inherit the kingdom of God. ( unfruitful works of darkness)

The fruit of the Spirit is love, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, to crucify the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Anything else is seeking vain glory, it wont help anyone to grow, but the words of the testimony of Christ willl, and apostle Paul also the perfect example of walking, and why. ( MEAT/belief and NOT MILK/unbelief of the hope of the rising of Jesus Christ from the dead.)...

Acts 24:15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
16 And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void to offence toward God, and toward men.

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Spiritual growth is a journey of a lifetime, not a one and done deal. It happens when we till the stony ground, remove the thorns and let the seed of gospel grow in the soil of our heart.

Believing in Christ risen, Paul left all behind, began to be persecuted, to do all well as Christ did, what other growth do you think you have to offer, other than the one testified to the world, to FOLLOW.

With God.
I am glad you realize that.
All who have a relationship walk in the light, but how far differs from person to person, and that's the progression, that's not sinning.
"How far" doesn't effect whether or not one is in the light.
If one walks in darkness, then he's not sanctified at all,
That is correct.
and he has no walk with God to begin with.
That is right.
Spiritual growth is a valid biblical teaching, that's what the meat and milk are all about. You won't understand as long as you hold onto the heresy of sinless perfection.
The opposite of walking in darkness, is sinless perfection, (perfect obedience).

Even Christ had to learn obedience by the suffering of the cross, what suffering is there in comparison with words on a forum by God knows who ( cant see any suffering of death in them) for all the years they offer only words ( to deceive ?) daily..

Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

what fool will agree that their meddling on forums for years and years, should EVER cease...

Proverbs 20:3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.

"How far" doesn't effect whether or not one is in the light.
Nonetheless it does effect what reward one will receive in the Lord's kingdom:

Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.(1 Cor. 3:12-15)
The opposite of walking in darkness, is sinless perfection, (perfect obedience).
As long as you hold onto the heresy of "sinless perfection" which practically equating yourself with Lord Jesus, you're walking in darkness.

Jesus endured the greatest test of His life, unto death.
Can't we endure the day to day living's test, unto life eternal ?

Nonetheless it does effect what reward one will receive in the Lord's kingdom:".
That is kind of "after the fact".
If the man isn't walking in the light-God, his only "reward" will be a lake of fire.

We better be sure while we live that we are walking in the light-God.
As long as you hold onto the heresy of "sinless perfection" which practically equating yourself with Lord Jesus, you're walking in darkness.
As the light is God, (1 John 1:5), it is the sinners who walk in darkness.
Perfect obedience to God isn't a heresy; it is a command from God.
It is written..."But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." (1 Peter 1:15-16)

Then you're being disobedient with your sin of pride.

Paul was not writing to outsiders.
You don't think John's words apply to you ?
I know they apply to me.
Then you're being disobedient with your sin of pride.
If I had anything to do with making me free from sin, besides repenting and getting baptized, I don't know what it is.
I am only proud of Jesus for obeying God unto the death that freed me.
It is available to everyone of us, still.

You don't think John's words apply to you ?
I know they apply to me.
John didn't write the Corianthian or Timothy letters, Paul did.
If I had anything to do with making me free from sin, besides repenting and getting baptized, I don't know what it is.
I am only proud of Jesus for obeying God unto the death that freed me.
It is available to everyone of us, still.
If so, you'd have boasted about Jesus's perfect obedience to the father, not your own.
